Looks as if they have recently purchased 817 area code numbers in Texas - two new ones from that area code in as many days (02/06 & 02/07). Number was at one time for a legimiate business: Grandview Nursing Home, Grandview TX

- RonnieCalled at 8:29 this a.m 2/7/14. Left no message. I do receive mail from PR re: past debt far over it's statute of limitations. However I'm not sure how they got my number. It is a google voice phone number. I haven't had a phone in years, not home or cell. This number is not published as mine, that I know of, however I do give it out as a message phone for Doctor's office, Auto Insurance agent, etc. to be able to reach me. I pray to God, this was just some random call and not really "meant" for me. That is all I need. Thankfully google voice has a block option that gives a "disconnected recording" once you block a caller's number!!

- Cynthia| 1 replyGot a call from this number this morning. Caller ID says "Grandview Nursing Home". Answered and asked if this was the Grandview Nursing Home. He said, "No". It is, indeed, PR. Debt that I don't owe, have NEVER owed, and would be far past the statute of limitations, according to the information I got from them.
Isn't spoofing someone else's number illegal?- Caller: Portfolio Recovery

- Tamianth replies to CynthiaYes it is. Report them to your State Attorney General, FTC, FCC, CFB..
Also follow the steps in what you need to know. Keep any recorded messages, record all calls, keep a notebook handy also to write down details of the calls, log time & dates etc. Make sure you send them a cease & desist letter via registered return receipt or certified US mail.

https://800notes.com/forum/ta-9413b3202bc8b6c ... net%27s-tactics - AnnaCaller ID is this 817-500-4358 "Grandview Nursing..." I get a call under different numbers almost every morning. lately it has been some numbers from TX, one earlier in the week almost the same time, between 8 and 8:30, These people are hilarious and/or their robo machines, No message is ever left.
I suppose the clue for me is that I do not know anyone living in Tx. - Joe Madden.Have received multiple calls from numbers I don't recognize and there are no messages left after they call. The most recent was at 8:05 a.m. Pacific time this morning (2/21/2014) and the phone number used "Grandview Nursing Home," and the number was 817-500-4358. There was a call yesterday (2/20/2014) at 8:55 a.m. with the caller id as North Richland, Texas with the number of 817-479-9154. There were others from Strongsville, Ohio 440-638-5278, and two calls that really pisses me off as a veteran was one identified as the "Utah National Guard," 801-878-5783 and as if they seem to humor themselves with the various numbers and identification, a call from unknown caller with a number listed as 000-000-0000. Someone better shut this "recovery," or more what they are, "collection agencies without regard for anyone or anything other than what money they earn through any means to intimidate people who have either long (as in 10 years or more) small debts or no debt at all." This is wrong and how they are allowed to purchase phone numbers and operate in the manner they do, should most definitely STOP!!!!!!!
