I'm assuming this is some outsource company doing a very poor job.  And I'm assuming the information they're getting from Comcast is poor.

I moved and transferred my Comcast service starting last week.  The automated voice states, "Hello, this is ACS calling on behalf of your cable service company.  We are calling to inquire about any equipment you may have that belongs to the cable service provider...".  I'm supposed to call 866-738-6739.  Well, of course I still have their equipment, I still have the same dang service.  The technician was here installing it all and plugged the old equipment back in.  What I just realized is kinda freaky is the recorded message doesn't say "Comcast".  That's why I'm sure it's just some calling service that is used by several companies.  Either way, I'll just call Comcast and ask them to stop the calls.  The service obviously got my number from Comcast anyway.

Here's the website of the company.  They're just a call center service.  It can be for many things, late bills, service, equipment, etc.
