I checked this blog because I've been getting calls as well--your post answered my question.  Silver Leaf is a timeshare in Texas for one, and I know what "friend" gave them my number.

I've recently put myself on the do not call registry, but calls like this I guess get through because someone has referred you to them....still annoying as all get out.

This a marketing company contracted with Silverleaf Resorts. The call is to get you to come out to the Resort and take a tour with the intent to get you to purchase a timeshare. It is a legitimate call as they have received your contact information from some referral a family member, friend, or someone; however, they are just like any other telemarketing company and will bug the hell out of you. I got so tired of the calls I brought a timeshare...LOL, now those that I referred will be harrassed. HAHAHAHA

A work friend that uses/ has a timeshare with this company gave them my name and cell. They call and try to pressure me into coming to visit their resport and promise all kinds of free prizes just for me showing up. When I tell them I am not avaliable on the day they have open they ask when I will be avaliable. I told the lady the last time I was going out of town and that I could not let her schedule me an appointment. She then asked me where I was going, and what route I was taking. ??? All the while Im at WORK and cannot be on the phone talking about free vacations. The only reason I answered is because it resembled the number of one of my collegues. I wont be doing that anymore!

Silverleaf is the name of the company, and they call from various numbers and do not STOP calling you regardless of your requests. I could barely make out what the company name was- it took 3 attempts at calling them back and hearing different people say it, but the last one made it clear. They get your number from your "friends" when they fall for their scam. In order for them to receive their timeshare "gifts" they force your friends to give the numbers of people they can call. They actually identified two of my friends, a couple that went on a cruise via Silverleaf. This couple unfortunately fell victim to the scam, and I told them I am not interested in doing the same. I filed several complaints now- the most recent through the FCC. I suggest everyone do this to eventually force them to comply with "do not call" requests. It takes multiple people complaining for the FCC to take action, but they will. I have dealt with this before with a different company, and it did get resolved in about 1 month.
