Woman stated that my name was selected while I attended an Astros game. That I won a Mercedes Benz. I told her I don't nelieve her and I hung up. These telemarketers just don't give up.

First, I got a call from a company about the usual prizes/timeshare deal (from a different 800 number). Then about an hour later I got a call from this number, a man with an Indian accent asked for my email address. He told me he couldn't tell me who he was, just that "someone" needed my email address and he was calling for them, since they weren't able to talk at the moment. He even promised it wasn't a "prank call." Wow. Really?

Just got a call from Silver Leaf, a lot of the same stuff as listed above. This is a total scam. I signed up for free Bruins tickets at a Bruins game and got a call back saying that I was guaranteed one of the major prizes (a cruise, tropical vacation, trip to Vegas, $1500 shopping spree etc.) I listened on the phone for a while and they said that I had to set an appointment and confirm my attendance. I asked for an informational email before scheduling my appointment and they refused - after talking to a few inept people over the phone I realized that it was a total scam. I am most definitely going to report this to my local new channel.

Has any one actually gone to this thing? Just curious because I also got a call and I know it's a scam I'm just curious as to what actually happens.

Called, didn't leave a message, and when I called back, there was no answer and no voicemail. I don't ever sign up to 'win' anything if I'm out at events. And I haven't been to any concerts or any other event in several years.

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Who do these people think they are?!!  First, they claim I signed up with a local raffle...... NOT!!  Then, they assure me that I've won one of 4 luxurious prizes.  I wasn't born yesterday and know a scam when I hear one.  But I decide to listen further.....  They wanted me to drive to the Berkshires for a 90 minute conference - THEN, I would have to purchase my own airline tickets to an unknown 'southern' location where I would board a cruiseship at their expense, etc., etc.......
When I told her that I was a New York resident living at the poverty level and I didn't currently own a vehicle, she had the audacity to inquire how I "get around" (as if it was her business).  I answered by bus, train, taxi, however.  Then - get this!  She told me I would need to find a ride to the Berkshires or I might be charged!!  What?!??  SERIOUSLY???  I wanted to tell her to GO !@#$%^&*! herself, but I pointed out that we had just been down to Orlando for Thanksgiving and we weren't looking to go on another vacation anytime soon.  Would you believe that these idiots contacted me at home AND on my cell phone again and again?!!?  
What is most disturbing about calls like these is that they 'clog' up my emergency lines.  Every time my call-waiting goes off in the middle of an extremely important phone call, it never ends well.  Sometimes, I end up getting disconnected - but even when I try to ignore these fools, the "butting" in all the time is becoming a nuisance!!!!!!!!  I shouldn't have to contemplate dropping my call-waiting feature because of these MORONS!!!  When harassment begins to compromise your livelihood is when I feel that some kind of ACTION should be taken!!!  Funny how they always first mention that "This call is being recorded for quality assurance".  What they should start off with is "We are taping this conversation because we are fed up with all of the threats of violence coming from people who keep asking us about our whereabouts but they will never discover our location because we are not a legitimate company or organization.  We ARE, in fact, SCAMMERS!!"  I've asked to be removed from these lists a zillion times!  It's too bad my landline can only block 80 calls at a time.  GOD, I need a more advanced system!!  If any telemarketers are reading THIS and/or some of the other MILLIONS of complaints out there, For God's Sake, Leave us all ALONE!!!!!!
