if you put the cell phone number down, that gives them permission to call that number.  Nowhere does it say that you have to ask twice.  And the call period for a prior business relationship is 18 months.  if you feel that I am wrong, please cite the exact section of the laws you are referring to.
i'll make it easy for you:

    http://transition.fcc.gov/cgb/policy/TCPA-Rules.pdf

    The two laws in question.

Or you could just.....you know....not call people who are on the Do Not Call list. It is, after all, a law.

We aren't a known scamster, because we aren't a scamster.  We have an A rating on the BBB.  We are very public.  We have a nice website, a facebook page, we clearly identify ourselves when we call.  Did you know if you receive a call from a telemarketer who's name doesn't appear on your caller ID, that it is illegal?  We put our name on your caller ID (if your phone has caller ID) because we WANT you to know who we are, and we WANT you to know how to contact us.  A scamster wouldn't do that.

Definitely not a scamster.  If you've been charged multiple times in a month, you have recourse, and can call your credit card company.  They will refund the money if it legitimately is an unauthorized or unsolicited charge.  If we were trying to scam people, we wouldn't be as public as we are, because it would make getting shut down a lot easier.  We are easily contactable by the BBB, Attorney General's Office, local and non-local fraud detection agencies and police departments, banking institutions, etc.  I actually had a customer call in this morning who had two charges process yesterday on his card, and not only did I refund the second payment, but I contacted both our merchant processor and his bank to 1) Verify the refund was processed, and 2) see what the issue was with the second payment.  Turns out that it was a "hold" that his OWN credit card put on, and when we captured that hold, the credit card company credited us a payment and did not release the hold, thus appearing twice on his statement.  Would a scamster, 1) Refund your money, and 2) contact multiple BANKING institutions to question why a charge that they made occurred this way?

Again, our phone number is 817-856-0600 or you can reach us toll free at 866-859-7394.  Ask for Jason.

It isn't protesting, it is fact finding and sharing.  No Peter has worked here in the past two years, at least not multiple times.  In fact, we have only had four returning employee's.  Employee's are either terminated for poor business practices, and thus not rehirable, or they decide sales isn't for them or they need a break from what we do (job hoppers).  We've had four such job hoppers hop back to us over the past two years, and none of them are named Peter.

Third party companies are only supposed to call Land Lines.  We are an indirect provider of the service, and therefore the only person who was given permission to call the cell phone would be the company that provided the survey and the company that is directly providing the service (i.e., Readers Digest).  Cell Phones cannot be "cold called".

As for my other statement, you are correct and I was wrong.  I read the rules before I posted to prevent foot in mouth scenario, and I misread the "two calls" as two attempts to stop.  It is one call, ask to be placed on the list, and a second phone call to violate, however it must happen 72 hours after the first call took place where you requested to be placed on the internal DNC.  This applies to both internal, and the national.

And I didn't make that previous post, and only found this site based on an advertisement we received in the mail regarding the first page of Google when you type in our name.  Oddly enough our top hits include our BBB page, Facebook, and our company website.

It's fantastic to know that we're the crooks and scum of the Earth when people like you come to these sites and forget that not all telemarketers and telephone sales are illegitimate, and decide to be derogatory.  I'm sure you've ordered a Pizza on the phone, or placed a customer service call somewhere.  The people on the other end of the phones are just that, people, and some of us do try to do the right thing.  It just so happens in our business, we contact a Nationwide audience that contains millions of active subscribers to thousands of magazines, and the best way to do that is via telemarketing.  I'll let the aforementioned BBB link speak for itself though.

    We aren't Publishers Preferred.

    Here is the correct site:

    http://www.bbb.org/fort-worth/business-review ... on-tx-235975630

Publishers Preferred went out of business in 2013, and accreditation is a year by year deal, so they couldn't be accredited anyway.  We are commonly incorrectly associated with PPSD because their director of operations when they shut down opened this business, and in the wake of PPSD Inc's shutdown, we acquired a lot of former PPSD customers and a few former PPSD employees.  He was their Commercial Director before, so he dealt mainly with businesses, just as we do currently.  Personally I was in the military when PPSD was around, so I wouldn't know anything about their business practices as I didn't see or experience them first hand.

If you are an existing customer with an established business relationship, then anyone calling on behalf of that company is authorized to call you.  You can request that they add you to their internal DNC however, and they will have to comply.

Hey folks, this statement is going to put an end to our correspondence with this board. Publishers Elite IS an A rated, accredited company. Our goal is to only reach out to active subscribers of specific magazine titles, to renew their service. 70% of our consumer book is businesses with a captive audience, salons, doctors, body shops, etc.
We call magazine renewals, not new business, so our calls are placed to people who opted in, to be contacted, either by your direct publisher or you completed an online survey and approved us to contact you with offers. Keep in mind, most publishers are smart with their words, they say, "we won't contact you by phone", but that doesn't mean nobody will. The publishers sell your names and info to companies like this one, thousands of them, the only thing is, hardly any are transparent, easy to get a hold of, and accredited by the BBB. A little known fact is, you have to call your magazine publisher direct, and request your info not be sold or exchanged. You cannot believe this company miraculously came across milions of peoples magazine subscriptions? And do you believe that magazine publishers could stay afloat by only sending mailers (most ineffective form of marketing) and hoping everyone sends the card in.
We love people around here, we have a crew of people with a lot of integrity and willingness to go the extra mile. We enjoy saving people money on their magazine packages, and have always complied with customer requests to be placed on the DNC list. I challenge anyone to prove different. We have an automated system, DNC customers are never seen again, they are in a off limits area, that only I, and supervisors can see. Question is, how many positive reviews do people post, especially for magazines...in this business, if you do it perfectly it's expected with no praise, do it wrong and pay dearly. I don't mind your statements, I don't delete reviews, never have, never will. We protect the elderly by offering better options and restrictions in certain cases, we have the best cancellation policy IN THE NATION for 3rd party agents, and we address every review. We price match EVERYTHING, so nobody could ever overpay! But yes, we are a magazine company, a very good one, and before slamming us, give us a shot. Or at the very least, ask to be put on our DNC list, you won't be called again by us. We appreciate all the feedback, we are always looking to improve and your suggestions are always brought up in meetings, thanks again and have a super day!
