    Who is Transamerica?
Received the same call from Jessica and called back to the number and got the same message from Stephan  Saffie(?). I've put out so many job applications with my phone number I thought nothing of how they got my number. Now I don't know if I should believe this to be a legit job offer or some sort of ID theft or some other shady business. They never returned my call and they want me to call them for the interview.Don't know if I will or not.People taking advantage of job seekers. What next.

    Be Careful !!
Yes, I got a same message by "Diana/Transamerica in Encino" saying that this is ref. to my resume.
When I returned her call, it was a "Stephan Saffie" 's voice mail that nobody answered the phone.

Not really sure what kind of fraud they are but can't forgive such a jerk who is trying to take advantage of the people who are seriously looking for a job. - Just BE CAREFUL !!!

Same as the other posts above. A call from Jessica of Transamerica. Returned the call and got the VM of "Stephan Saffie".  I've never applied to them. WTF. This is probably some Life Insurance Sales job where they want you to sell to all of your relatives. No Thanks.

    Who is Transamerica?
This is the completion of my earlier post. I received a call back from the 818 number and bottom line is they acquire your information from the online job posting sites as Monster, Jobs.com etc. When asked which resume/posting they are referring to they just say "your resume". This guy never gave his name and said he was working from a remote site and didn't have all my information in front of him so he wanted me to fill him in on some details, present employment, work history, where I live now, interests etc. Asked if I had heard of Transamerica before, I said yes because I used Transamerica Title Company as the escrow company, I don't think they are affiliated though, I think they are playing off the familiarity of the Transamerica name. In short they want you to eventually sale some sort of personal insurance policies such as 401's, IRA'S  or whatever. Law requires you to be licensed to sell insurance, but he said no licenses required. At this point I got tired of the conversation and told him not interested whatsoever and we both politely ended the conversation and hung up.We never got around to talking money, but was sure it was going to eventually come up. Be careful.

    Frustrated
Same company--Transamerica.  Never applied with them, not familiar with them, and after reading the posts above, I'm not even going to call back.  My call was from a woman named Lori (not Jessica).  Thanks for the warnings!

    Job seeker
I have caller ID so I did not pick up the call and answering mâché was message from Diana of Transamerica.  After reading all the postings, I will not return her calls and decide to withdraw my resume from Monster .com since I got similar calls from different companies.  Am afraid of their identity theft.

    It's a scam!
    Hello all,
Stephan and his assistant are not from the real Transamerica company. Anyone calling from "TransAmerica" and claiming they are offering a job, but will not tell you what the position is or how they came across your resume is a fraud, especially if they are asking for money to start-up your career with them. The real Transamerica company is a financial services company offering insurance, investment and retirement. They would not want to ruin their reputation by making unsolicited calls
Check out the www.transamerica.com, and then select careers, where you would have to apply for a particular position on their website.

I received the same call today around 2:07 pm. She stated they received my resume and that I should call Stephon tomorrow between 10 and 2 for a phone interview.  I really can't believe this is happening to me and other people. I've been unemployed since October of 2010. Very disappointed!!

Got a call from "Jessica" who said they found my resume.  I asked what for?  She said she was calling for her boss, Stephan, and they had a job for me.  I asked what kind of work.  She said commission sales of insurance or something.  I said I can't work without a regular salary, but give me your number and if something changes I'll call back.  She gave me the number 818-483-4583.

The number matched a different  thread here but info the same this thread matched my call more.
Just wanted to say I've worked at the same place since 1984. I have no resumes filed anywhere but she call me by my full first name. So where are they getting their contact info from? Has anyone thought of reporting them to transamerica? Maybe they would take offense to these creeps playing off of there name?

Got the call. Same as above. Checked out though. It IS Transamerica. Sales position in insurance. Met with the guy. Made money sense. Answered all my questions and yes, it was time to move my 401. Won't go for the position, but it made sense to move my money. Not a scam at all. My dad was in the appointment and it all check out.
