Called asking for contact information so they can send investment material for a new Hollywood movie, Panda (something) and was very excited because expecting 300 - 400% returns on investment.  If they're that excited about the movie and the returns, then what do they need my money for???  Yea, I'll pass.

Jarhead, most movie producers want to risk your money, not theirs.

In this case, they want you to think that 3-4x your money (oops, excuse me, "300 PERCENT TO 400 PERCENT!") is a good return. It isn't. By Hollywood movie standards, 4x, 5x, even 8x return on investment is considered a failure. Go figure.

After I went to a convention in the Midwest in 2010, I started getting all kinds of investment solicitation calls like this. I still get them.

While I don't know about this company's productions, some movies are "Lose Money Quick" schemes, some are "Lose Money Slowly" schemes, and a very, very small number of productions might actually make money over a long number of years.

Movies are a Risky Business.    (get it? ;-)
