Older man claiming to be be conducting survey for LA DWP. When I asked why my caller ID did not say LADWP he hung up on me. Also, he did NOT know my name. SCAM!

called about a company called guardian and some kind of benefits
told them I was not the person they are looking for
this same  number also has come up as "todd with your security" " some political thing" etc
definitely a scammer

The phone companies have the power to stop these calls.

Phone companies don't have that power.  Telephone surveys are not illegal.  Since you have internet access, you might want to use it to actually learn before posting.

This number has called on several occasions. I don’t know it so haven’t answered.  After reading previous comments I blocked the number...but it is still coming through. If I click on missed call info my phone gives me the option to unblock, so I know the block is in place.  They must have some way around the block.

They called and asked if I wanted to take a survey about local gov. Asked for my zip code and hung up...why?

Never say yes. They record that and use it as approvals for a host of scams. Keep an eye on your phone bills, cards, etc

received call at 8:52 pm from 818-756-7488. I let it roll to voicemail no message was left. Caller ID says it is a Los Angeles phone number.

An old number, must be recycling it on their robocalling utility. Just hang up!!!!

Maybe “they” (you) should have looked for a better, and more customer friendly job, than this particular telemarketing scheme. There are plenty of other jobs out there, and just because you want to be “happy” at your job, doesn’t mean that I am required to take time out of my day, late at night, while I’m helping my kids, with certain “reps” being rude, hanging up, or ignoring a no -call list. I don’t remember a contract that I signed, anywhere, that says I have to take time or punishment out of my day, so you can have a good one. Get a life, grow up, and get a new job!! 👍

Your duplicate post was reported.  There was no need to post a reply to someone who posted here in 2013 (as made clearly evident by the date under the screen name), let alone post it twice.  Did you really and truly expect them to see your reply after 5 years?
