I had one of these calls too. A man asked me about information on my computer. I just hang up on him without saying anything, and it seems it was not the first time they called. Won't answer them again, too.

This number just called my friend in Canada and asked if his computer was running okay.  He replied, "Yeah, it's running well, it just ran past your house," and hung up.

I have received a call from 818-824-6039 saying it was Microsoft calling. Most likely, someone from India with a terrible English accent, I could hardly make sense with what he was asking.me to do.

He told me that 1000s of my computer files were corrupted and asked me to do certain things on my computer, which I unfortunately did.  He even gave me my ID number (how did he get that?) I have followed his instructions but after I hung up, I called a friend who made a search on Internet and discovered it was a prank.

Do you think that they have done something that could damage my computer ?  What do I do ?

J'ai reçu ce midi, 25 septembre 2012 un appel de ce numéro;  roulement de tambours et quelques secondes plus tard un type parle en Anglais avec une voix mieleuse.....j'ai raccroché le combiné.

Ça fait quelques fois que je reçois ce genre d'appel bizarre, c'est vraiment déplaisant et Télébec me dit que c'est probablement fait à partir de skype, donc les gens peuvent mettre le numéro de leur choix.

Ils ont plusieurs plaintes à ce sujet!

oct 01.2012 female with eastern accent  i had a problem with windows. As soon as i heard that I told her she was a fraud and that the police were onto them. She said do you know who I am and that i should have more patience then hung up. Wow..cool lady
I got ripped off once and never again.

Just got a call in Montreal from this number and did not pick up. No message left. Before I read your posts, I thought a legit person might have tried to reach me. FYI, a recording says there is no service.

Même chose pour moi... il m'a demandé d'aller voir mon ordi car, il y avait de quoi qui n'allait pas. Il ne parlait pas un mot français et quand je lui ai demandé si j'avais un PC ou un MAC, il n'a pas dit la bonne réponse et alors, je l'ai envoyé au diable et lui demandant de ne plus jamais me rappeler.

Je suis franchement tannée de ce genre de pogne fatiguante!

just got this call from an indu /middle east guy . he asked me to go to my pc and i told him no , he was angry and i ask him what he wanted very aggressively . he was vulgar telling me he wanted my wife genital and ended making death threat that him and is friend will get and kill me .

My mother recieved a phone call on THANKSGIVING Day at 1:25pm, kinda odd timing to me!! We asked could he call back, Steven, who sounded as if he were from the Middle East, agreed. 6pm recieved phone call from Steven again, claiming to be with MICROSOFT!! She couldn't understand him so she gave the phone to me. I told him my name, he proceeded to ask me my age, then talked about how young I sounded for over 5 minutes, then asked if I was married, "yes" he said "What a SHAME!" Very VERY ODD!!! I got on pc, he told me to type in www.teamview (never got to the .com) because I was asking for verification that he was indeed with MS! He told me my mothers name and email, I said "and....how does that prove you are with MS??" We conviently had phone line issues and lost connection, he called back a few mins later to tell me they were gonna check the phone lines and call me back in about 20 mins, 2 HOURS LATER, NOTHING!!!

The phone # was 818-293-8483!!

They call over and over, what's the point?  I fail to see how this benefits them in anyway.  By now they should know i'm on to them and they are not going to reach me.  I block them, or they get voice mail when they try a new spoofed number. Real businesses and people leave messages.  Today this number (and 818-795-3101) keeps calling over and over seconds apart then a break then it starts again.  20+ calls in 3 hours.  Same old scam.   I now have a very loud fax greeting them, they inadvertently left a message or two, great to hear them talking about calling me.   They even tried to send a bogus fax -  its digital you dopes!  Keep sending me trash PDF's, I can ignore them too.   So waste your time, have fun... I'm too busy to notice you.
