i have a vehicle for sale on craigslist and this exact number messaged me willing to buy my car, asking me for my PayPal email to make the money transfer.
i looked up the phone number since its not from  my area and it lead me to this web page....
seems like this person is trying to scam people

3/29/13 - same scenario requesting info on a vehicle listed on Craigslist Los Angeles.

Same here. Tried to buy my boat sight unseen. When I told him cash no messages back.

i received a text from this number on a trailer/pressure washer i have for sale in MN and ND.  the number is from TX.  is there anyway to acutally report this and have someone do anything to catch these people?  the numbers have to be tracable by the proper authorities.  thank you for all your comments and help on these scammers.

This wasn't the phone number I was getting messages from, but the name and address are the same.  They got upset I wouldn't send them 900 before seeing the money in my account and have stopped messaging me.  I'm so glad I decided to check things out before falling for this scam.

Same here! This is a BIG FAT SCAM! I was trying to sell my motorcycle on Craigslist.  Told. Me was interested. To buy without even know the final price. Told me he was a "Capitan marine" and wanted me to ship the motorcycle to Georgia? ! ... Wanted to get my Pay Pal info, and got upset when I told him I don't have to and started to become rude in the messages. Never spoke by phone. Texted that Police and Pay Pal already kneww about the scam, and had not answer back since then. Glad didn't fall for that one. This person used other cel number with same area number.

303-351-7730 asking all the same questions as shown above. good thing I seen this before going through with any of it. she replied to my craigslist add on a built up 95 dodge neon. wanting to buy today and send an extra 700 dollars for me to pay the shippers. found it odd. then said shes on a marine sea base as an engineer. pretty sure its a scam

Same thing as other people are seeing. They responded to a car listing I had for sale on craigslist. They first emailed me through the craigslist system asking me to text them if it is still available, which I did. They then wanted me to email all of the information about the car so they could make a buying decision.
Scam. Stay away.

yes, they are still at it. I also have received a call asking about a car I have on craigslist. claim they are a marine engineer sailing on a ship in Bermuda & like the car , would like to wire money. I suspected it was a scam because the replies were long written & coming in way too fast for a person to have typed it, so I knew it had to be someone sending something pre-written. also they kept referring to the car as '' it '' rather than what type of car they were asking about. that was a big give away it was a scam. they cant take the time to type in the kind of car in each message because they are sending out the same message to multiple people around the country/world.

He or she tried to scam me and wanted to buy my Harley Davidson here in Washington State. Wanted to deal only in PayPal. I advised bank to bank transfer only.  Do not want to do it.
