Had you taken the time to read the other posts it has been explained what this is about.  Of course if you had taken the time to read the paperwork you received before going into the hospital you would have known what this is about as well.  You really can learn things from reading!

833-217-8326 - Said my bill was ready for online viewing and payment for a hospital I have never been to.

I received a text that my bill was past due from the hospital from when i went last august but i am set up on payments. I hit stop to unsubscribe to text messages from that number.

Received message from this number says from Hanover Emergency Room billing, that my Insurance co denied payment. Never been there.

Received a text with a link to pay a medical bill.  Looked legitimate enough since I had used emergency services recently.  The bill amount was in the range of what I would expect, the medical center name was correct, and the patient was correct.  The website it sends you to claims to be pay.teamhealth.com. Clicked the link to view the bill details and it wanted my social security number to verify my identity.  I didn't enter it, of course.  Another verification option was to send a code to my email.  I selected that option and never got the security code even though the portion of the email address they showed was correct.  As I suspected, it is a scam.  I will give them credit for doing some research though, it looked convincing.

That site has been up since '97.  It is registered to a company that supplies out-of-network doctors.  The company is located in Tennessee.  It looks like you can either put in your SS# or your DOB.  I have never heard of getting a bill by text message before.  I have noticed more and more reports.  I don't think that is a very wise business decision based on the fact that there is too much chance for it to be a scam.

I received a text from this number.  It stated that my emergency room visit was due.  I haven't been to the ER in a year, 1st red flag.  When I clicked on view details the amount owed was $40.27, 2nd red flag.  I know what my deductible is and that's not it.  The text then asked for my SS# and DOB, 3rd red flag.  My hospital has that info.  DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR INFORMATION!  SCAM, SCAM, SCAM

It can take up to a year for them to get around to billing you.  Don't ask me why because if I were owed money I would certainly want to get it as soon as possible.  Hopefully they won't send you to a debt collector.  But on the other hand you would then have a lot more rights.

Literally no reason for why they sent this, so here's what they said this exactly:

Your emergency department physician bill from your visit to THE MEDICAL CENTER AT FRANKLIN is now ready. You may also receive a bill in the mail.

Then you were not treated in that hospital?

This is what I received (text message) and I don’t have a bill with this hospital. I called the hospital first and then my insurance company to confirm, my insurance company covered everything! This number/company is totally fake!!!

The bill isn't for the hospital.  It is for the doctor.  I can't believe that people don't know that there are two separate bills when it is stated right there in the ER that there will be a bill for the hospital and one for the doctor.

The bill isn't for the ER.  Had you taken the time to read that you would have found out that it is for the doctor.  Can you tell the difference?  A hospital is made out of steel, brick, and concrete.  Doctors are not.  But that's OK, don't pay the bill and then wonder why you have a debt collector calling you and your credit took a hit.

They asked me to pay 2 bills 1800$ each. That is so weird. I thought it is legit as i had been in the emergency room right
