Left message that is stats Canada to call them back. Call from hidden number. 📵

Do not answer unlisted numbers. Call came from 1-877-604-7828.  Message Claims to be Heather from Statistics Canada. Leaves Reference number that includes my phone number and wants call back day or evening to 1-833-266-9910. Highly doubt Stats Canada takes evening calls. Believe this is a scam. I’m sure Statistics Canada can reach me by mail if legitimate

I received a call from hidden number to my work number from a person named Laura claiming to be from Statistics Canada. Had my full name and provided a reference number. Included the 1-833-266-9910 number.. pretty sure this is a scam if other people are getting the same thing. I am not calling this number back.

left a message saying "Steven" from statscan. left this phone number with a case reference number. Steven had a south asian accent.

Someone left msg named Roy Columbus from stats can , same as above ,obviously a scam, ignored and reported here

Keep in mind, just because it sounds like a survey, it might also be a scammer phishing for personal info. Always be alert to what is being asked, before blurting out information that might seem harmless, but can be useful to a scammer.

You should never answer any "robo" survey because you won't know if its legitimate or a scammer. If its a live person, ask them a lot of questions about what the survey is for to be sure its legitimate. You can tell them "no comment" on any question, if you choose to take the survey.

Shirley Newman from stats Canada called with a case number and asked me to call back, indicating they are open evenings and weekends. Not calling back.

Received phone calls twice from two different numbers:
a) 1-902-426-6766 some woman
b) 1-1-800-461-1662 someone Robert Coats, the number looks exactly like toll free but has one extra "1" at the front.
Both were asking about my daughter and left a reference number for her, asking to call to 1-833-266-9910.

They keep emailing and calling me saying to call back and that they’re available days nights and weekends. Since I was still receiving calls a few months later I called back and they said they would call me back. Is this spam?

This is the message they left:
"Hello my name is Rob Coats and I'm calling from Statistics Canada. Please call us back at our toll free number which is 1-833-266-9910 and quote your reference number which is CSP1277438.....We are open days evenings and weekends for your convenience. Thank you and have a nice day. Bye bye."

Don’t trust. Sounds like scam

received call from this number 1-833-266-9910, again Meghan O'niel claiming to be from Stats. Canada and gave me refernce number to return there call. Same message "for your conviennce they are available weekends" googled Stats. Canada toll free number and that number didn't pop uo as legitimiate 800 number for stats Canada.

Said he was from statistics Canada and cited a reference number.  Said they were open week days and weekends for your convenience. Not calling back.

It is legit. Its just a survey.  I called the statistics canada you verify this number was good.

Can confirm this is a government survey, wasn't relevant to me and they dropped it after two phone calls. Ignored it for months but finally went through with it, lots of worry for nothing.

Same deal, i googled ohone number, probably a scam

Got this call on a Sunday at 3:37pm from Debbie Evans of Stat Can, please call the same number back and quote reference number.  You're on hold like a fed gov't office.  You get to select french or english and then it gets funky.  Guy with very foreign accent answers and tells you to hold while he transfers you based on your reference number.  Then it's dead air for a long time and clicks to something else.  I hung up at this point convinced it's definitely a scam.
