Calling for Wellcare "support" to discuss medications. Which means Wellcare is sharing my private medical information with a third party. Not happy at all.

Wellcare is a legitimate Medicare Part D provider — my housemate has her prescription coverage through them — but they usually try to convince you to route your prescriptions through Express Scripts, with which they have a partnership. Express Scripts has occasionally called my housemate claiming to be Wellcare, and wanting to “review prescriptions”, so these probably started out as legitimate calls. But if you don’t have coverage from Wellcare, they definitely shouldn’t be calling you.

Have called twice saying they are from my prescription benefits plan. Funny thing: they talk to the voice mail message as if they are talking to a real person. Odd thing: the questions are asked so it would normally be answered with a  "yes" such as "am I talking to Joe" and it's Joe's number. This means they could possible use the person's "yes" response and contend they consented to something that they did not. Highly suspicious.

Saying she was calling from WellCare. She Asked for my name, birthdate and address. I could slightly tell that it was not a legitimate call from Wellcare. She asked if I was taking a statin drug called SIMVASTATIN. I asked what the reason for the call was she said it was regarding a new Wellcare program called ‘medication adherence’ But she didn’t ask for any other medication’s other than that one and I asked her why and she said ‘because it is a new program and we haven’t fully developed our program yet.’ I asked her name. She said Abbey. I also asked her if she had a direct line, she said no that I could possibly ask for her by name and potentially get a chance to talk to her. I asked for a number to reach the program and she gave me 1-855-507-0298.

The Wellcare representative told me that there is a Wellcare medication adherence program so these calls are legit. They’re just trying to find out if the patients are doing OK on their medication’s or if there’s any reason why they have not yet picked up their prescriptions.

Makes you wonder how they know what put medicine is!

Calling several times a day, never leaves a message. I have blocked the number but for some reason they are able to get through anyway. Continuing to block every time they call.

Getting a call from this number daily for four days. Sometimes two or three times a day. I answered today against my better judgement. The person claimed to be my WellCare prescription insurance. They asked my name, but I did not give my name. I asked what they wanted and they said they wanted to review my WellCare policy. They then asked for my name and date of birth. I told them we are done and I hung up. This sounded like a scam.

I have gotten bogus calls before from Wellcare, this is just that..bogus. It is a phishing attempt to get personal information from you that could be used for identity theft. Yes you CAN block a number from calling you on your cell as well as house phone. You can see how to do that online. I have definitely blocked this number.
