- COUNTRYGIRL| 4 repliesMy son sent me this person's name Margret Wells and when I called they said it was for a credit card that I never paid on from 2015. I talked to a gentleman that told me that they were a debt collection service and they were trying to settle with me. If i gave them so much money they could close it out. They asked e for my credit card number to set up payments and the guy said that he was going to email papers to sign. They said that they couldn't offer me the payoff again . I never received an email from them and I'm not sure about all of this

- Nimrod replies to UmWell, if "COUNTRYGIRL" did, all we can do is hope she is smart enough to contact the credit card company and report any charges as fraud and get a new card and account number issued.
- Cody| 1 replyHad the good old Margaret Wells from the Mediation Department text me. Due to me having most of all callers blocked on my phone do to scam's and me not wanting to change my number cause some how on a pre paid phone they still manage to find you no matter what you do So through the text message the number was a 239 Number which is from Florida. I've done a bit of background checking these numbers are used in a automated service. Basically Yellow book for robots. Any time that you put you're phone number on a piece of paper or a online service or adding to a account your phone number becomes open to the public which these scammers like using the most. Don't listen to these people if they are real first off ask their name. The company whom they work for and reason for the call. If its a nonstop issue, and you are on a do not call register and have their address well guess what you can write them a letter that you want money up to $1,500 for wasting your time. The numbers are 239-376-3882(text) Call back number 888-721-4612

- Kat* replies to CodySo putting my number on a piece of paper magically makes it open to the public?! Wow! I had no idea.
Oh, and having a pre-paid phone doesn't mean you won't get texts or calls since computers can simply dial all numbers in a given sequence & voila! They've reached you. - BobbyGot the exact same message today via text message, and Googled it--which brought me here. Obviously a scam, so I just blocked it.
