texted stating "recently mailed to statement" and to call this number and gave a account number. it came as a text from "28776"

A statement was recently mailed to *E. If we can assist you, please call 833-457-4087. Refer to account # blank "Reply STOP to opt out."

Had exes name from 20+ years ago on message. Definately a scam digging up old info.

received a text saying that they sent out a statement to me and listed my full name. It said to contact them if I needed help and listed an account number #291761. Call back number is listed as 833-457-4087.
I have no plans on responding to the text or contacting them but I would like to know what ‘To Do’ with texts and calls like this one. blocking them does no good as they continue to call from dozens of other numbers because they are scammers. This is becoming ridiculous. Why can’t our government agencies actually do something about this [***]? It is serious harassment and violates dozens of confidentiality laws. There is no real excuse for this kind of harassment in this country. Other than our government agencies don’t give a crap about it’s citizens and never have.

I recieved a text exactly like the ones mentioned here. Yet the name was an old boyfriend from yrs ago. Hell, I passed it on to him. Lol  jk

received a text with the same thing- "mailed a statement" but not my name on it. reported as JUNK via iphone.

RECEIVED TEXT: A statement was recently mailed to [insert my name],  If we can assist you, please call 833-457-4087. Refer to account # 294314 "Reply STOP to opt out."

This is after I received a phone call from a different number stating I had a "civil suit" against me from something in 2014. False. They want your info. I requested a written statement & told them it was beyond statute of limitations.
