Calls multiple times a day, according to my Caller ID. (I don't pick up calls from numbers I don't know, especially now, during Covid, when there are so many fraud and phishing calls.) Never leaves a voicemail.

I got a lady claiming she was calling from American Express as well. American Express has a list of numbers you can call for different purposes, but this number is not one of them.

Lady calls with message for someone with my last name (but not me), saying it is very urgent that the person get in touch with her. She claimed to be with American Express and left this number as a callback on her voicemail. The number is not an American Express number, and I have no intention of calling back.

Claum to be American Express. Obviously a scam.

Says they are American Express never say a word I called back and it said a recorded line a man picked up and said he had no info on my number.

same exact thing happened to me just now. Similar name, coincidentally she left my brother's name that i haven't spoken to any years. She claimed to be Karen Fernandez with American Express. Definite Scam

It's definitely American Express Collections. They farm old debt collection out to a number of call centers, many of them in India. BLOCKED.

Reported this fraudulent American Express representative to FTC.
Message: (first name, incorrect last name) this is Mirkham (masks pronunciation in East Indian sounding accent) calling you from American Express this is very important that you return my call you can call my toll free number at (833) 637-0667 reference number ######## my office will be open from 8am to 8pm eastern standard time.

Claims to be American Express and it is urgent that you return my call. The person who might be East Indian, gives this phone number and a reference number.

tl;dr: This number belongs to American Express and they are attempting to collect a debt. This website exists to provide us with accurate information. American Express is not a scammer.

I defaulted on 2 Amex revolving products and they're making a reasonable effort to contact me. For now, I block all forms of communication from creditors, including removing the SIM card from my phone that creditors consider my known number of record.  I inserted the SIM card in my phone today and saw a text msg asking me to call this phone number.  The originating number the text was sent from was spoofed. I'm wondering if this is legal and as a California resident I'm going to save this msg and participate in a future class action settlement if one occurs.

Hey Amex, if you're reading this: I'll pay when I am able to.

This is defiantly a scam.  American Express accounts have been current for 25 years. Call AMEX Customer Service directly at the phone number on the back of the card.
