We've been receiving calls regarding 'IRS tax relief help' for months.  Caller ID shows a different # each time.  Message provides a call back # - this past week it's been 833-727-7904.  They call at least every other day, sometimes twice a day.  Doesn't seem to do any good to have our phone #s registered with Donotcall anymore.

These are likely scammers. They couldn't care less about the DNC list. Legitimate tax relief companies do not cold call.   In addition to blocking the number, report it to your carrier as SPAM or SCAM likely, depending on what they allow.

Doesn't really do any good to block their number as they call from a different one every time.  Just got another one a few minutes ago.  The calls seem to have increased during the government shutdown - can't file a complaint with the FCC etc.  In another 2 or 3 weeks it'll be a slightly different message with a different call back #.  At least that's how it's been since this started earlier this year.

I've had the same experience.  The calls did stop but only after hitting the "report spam" button over and over.  Well, at least you've given a "heads up" to anyone who looks up the number.  Taking the time to do that, puts a bit of dent in the scammers armor.  The community appreciates your post.  Cheers. :-)

One of the numbers showing on caller ID is 440-908-0299. And the. Caller on the message is Oriental. They leave a call back number of 833-727-7904.
This is just one of them. I'm getting one for the past 2 weeks every day around 4:30-5:00 in the afternoon from a different number and they leave a different number but telling the same thing. Calling saying trying to settle your IRS outstanding balance or back returns before the October deadline. They call themselves the Resolution Center...
Then IRS sends letters out first. They never just call on the phone.
Can someone tell me how to stop it. I've blocked everything and still get them. I'm afraid to answer it. I don't want them to hack into my phone.

As with the above commenters, I’ve been receiving the same persistent and annoying SCAM calls and VMs  from Janet/Sarah/Samantha/Nicole/Patricia/Todd about a purported tax problem that needs ‘resolution.’  The calls began in August and have continued to the present (November) on an almost daily basis.  They purport to come from 13 different states.  Calls have come from the following spoofed numbers (so far):

Callback numbers seem to vary by month.  August callback number was 877-580-4552. Sept callback number was 877-580-0338.  Oct callback numbers were 833-727-7904, 844-986-7272, and 844-487-5755. Nov callback number is 866-878-9928.

These calls are not legitimate.  They are SCAMS.  Do NOT answer or respond.  Block and report.
