Calls on Memorial Day, a day of remembrance, has no valid caller ID, rings only 10 times and leaves no voice mail to prove it's a legitimate caller. This is a day to honor the fallen in the cause of our liberty, NOT FOR SPAMMING OR SCAMING! Shame on you.

To Gore I.S.: it's a legitimate caller. It's the home delivery support line for Samsung Home appliances. Chances are you just bought a refrigerator or a dishwasher and they wanted to get back to you for delivery. Don't be so hard on them! It's true this should be a day for remembering our fallen soldiers, but they are just trying to do their job.

Samsung calling to verify appliance delivery details. Purchased a new range from Home Depot yesterday and they were following up.

Kinda odd how many people who know who called them still felt the need to look up the number. Makes you wonder why they bothered.

Yes, it was a legitimate call regarding the purchase and delivery arrangements fir a Samsung Dryer I purchased yesterday from Home Depot.

Yes, I looked up the number because it was an odd one (area code of 833), and because they called earlier but did not leave a message. When I saw something about Samsung I called them back and it was indeed the Samsung appliance delivery phone number. (Just thought I'd clarify why I bothered). :-)

Perhaps the question might have been better if it was :
Why do people feel the need to verify their call was legitimate when scammers spoof legitimate numbers and validating them here only serves to aid those who spoof this number by reassuring others the call will be legitimate.

The name Samsung is already posted and more than enough for someone to have an idea who might have called them when they first were unsure. Once you validate its legitimate FOR YOU, why bother trying to reassure others at that point?

Never trust a caller to be who they claim, always call from an official number to verify if they did.

I would expect if this were really Samsung they would leave a message.

Because we needed to confirm it WAS legit.

Except scammers spoof legitimate numbers all the time so coming to a phone number look-up site ISN'T the way to confirm a call was "legit". The RIGHT way to confirm such a thing is to call a known number for whomever your caller is claiming to be.

So you think that ANYONE here can confirm YOUR call was legitimate?  The only thing anyone can do is confirm a legitimate "NUMBER", but theres no way someone can confirm someone else's caller is legitimate.

All anyone can do is point others to where they could find out . No one should even try convincing others their caller is or will be legitimate.
