I just receIved a call from what the caller said was my credit card company ESL but  after waiting a moment on hold waiting to talk with their agent they said there was too long a waiting list and they would try again later, so I had checked my credit union only to find out it was a  fraud

I contacted my credit union to verify whether or not this was spam.  Credit Union indicated that the call is actually legitimate.

This is a valid toll-free phone number.  Perhaps you meant to write that you think the caller is fraudulent.
A simple Google search turns up three financial institutions that use this number as a customer support number.  (They all appear to be smaller banks and credit unions, so this number probably belongs to a contracted service.)  Two list it as being for inbound calls and one for outbound texts.
    First National Bank of Burleson
Strip Steel Community Federal Credit Union
    Alabama Credit Union

Criminals have been known to spoof numbers used by actual financial institutions in the hopes of misleading people so they can be scammed.  If in doubt, always call your financial institution using a number from their website or from a monthly statement.

Tried using my credit card for an online purchase for the first time but it was declined. I figured my bank thought it was fraudulent activity and planned to call them the next day.
I ended up getting a call first from +18337632014 with no caller ID and no "this is [your bank] calling for etc etc."
I hung up and called my bank's recognizable number and got things cleared.
As of now, I believe the number is a scam, but I sent an email to my bank regarding it, so we'll see where it goes.
