This number used for call back because replied no to an attempt to use my debit card. Said to call number back because they blocked my card. This was used from the text code from south state bank. I immediately called MY official bank customer service number which is not south state bank, instead to block my debit card on purpose for security reasons. I called this number back and it kept repeating for me to type in my area code and phone number but wouldn't accept it. It finally hung up.

Got a text about a “fraudulent” purchase using my debit card. Replied no and tried to call this number, however, no one ever answered.  Tried to pay my utilities this morning and payments were declined.  So far, no charges on my account.  My bank actual fraud line is not open until Monday.  Have heard that once your card is locked it has to stay that way for a year!  Do NOT even reply with a NO, please!

Not sure where you heard "once your card is locked it has to stay that way for a year!" because that makes absolutely no sense.

    Burned once, never twice
I received two texts from my bank asking if I had made a certain charge to Sam's Club. They referenced the last four digits of my new debit card. The second text told me my debit card had been frozen. I checked online and saw this number was a scam line. Soon after, I received an automated call telling me to call that number. I hung up.

Received a text message from this number asking if I made a purchase in California (i live in South Carolina).  I called the number from a different land line phone and the automated recording NEVER mentioned the name of the financial institution.  When a representative finally came on the line, I asked her what financial institution she was with and she said "we work for several".  The fraud department with my bank doesn't respond with that answer.

I received a call from this number and was told that there was suspicious activity on my account. I hung up and went to my bank because my account had been frozen. The bank said that the call was fraudulent. I later received a text message asking if I had made a specific purchase and when I texted back “no” my account was then permanently suspended and now I have to get a new account number. Not sure what is going on with this situation but it is a big inconvenience because I am leaving on vacation and will only have a temporary card to use. The entire thing started when I tried to buy a dog tag at a machine in Walmart and my card was declined.

I received a text asking if I had made a gas purchase on my credit card, and it provided the last 4 digits of my debit card, so I called the number. Some girl picked up laughing and didn't state anything that would identify her or her company. When I asked her what institution she was with, she said nothing. I told her I hoped she burned in hell and hung up. It's too bad these scammers don't have to do hard jail time for this crap. The penalty for even being associated with these fools should be severe.

Got a call and texts from this number. all saying one of my debit cards (have 3) were being declined in suspicious locations, listed places I don't live... then asked if these were me. I texted back "no" and began looking up the number they contacted me with on my banks website, and couldn't find it. then when I looked up the  number directly this list was the only list I could find that matched the number (the list where this comment is posted)

I got a text message asking if I made a purchase at  Urban Bicycle. It had the last 4 digits of my debit card. I replied no, then I got another message saying it blocked my card & it from SECU Fraudulent office. It told me to call this 833 number. I looked on my bank account & saw no such charge. Going to call my bank to see if my card has been blocked.
