Seems to be a criminal outfit out of North Carolina working out of a residence.

Has an account number, says overdue fees, and penalties pending. Wants me to call them at this number.  No company name showing or who is calling.

I got a text message from 1-254-273-8463 regarding an outstanding account and to call 833-883-2216. Scammers.

They are texting me.  Showing an account number that does not match any account I have.  Total scam.  blocked the number

Received a text from 254-273-8463 with an account # I do not recognize.  Said to call 833-883-2216 or legal process would begin. Sounds sketchy to me. Blocked #. No scammers allowed!!

They have text me looking for Barbara Taylor as well as my son looking for Barbara Taylor.  I have not been a Taylor for 26 years. Claim I have an outstanding account that was opened in 2015 but has my Virginia address which I haven't lived at since 2003. Tried to tell me they were sending it for wage garnishment and I am sorry but one if a 2015 account statute of limitations of 3 years has expired and two you can't garnish for a credit card debt in NC only taxes, student loans and child support. When I asked them to send me proof of debt they hung up from me and immediately text my son.

Called my entire family including my brothers wife and MIL saying I had a “time sensitive package” and they were going to take legal action. No clue how they got their numbers. Called me and sent text at 6:30 am (which I don’t believe is legal) saying my account was overdue with an option to opt out. Didn’t specify which account they were referring to.  I opted out and received this message:

“Imperial Capital Group: You have opted out and will no longer receive messages from this service.  Reply RESUME to subscribe. Contact support@icgservices.net”

Got a text yesterday saying your account MB1617653 is overdue. Fees and penalties are pending. Call us at 833-883-2216. I called that number last night to just yell at them and got VM that it is Hart and Associates but the office was closed and to leave a message. I texted back they are scammers and to stop. Got another text from the same number so called to yell at them and they answered that they are Imperial Capital Group. This is a total scam. They are trying to get you to send them money for a debt that you do not owe. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS. They are not off shore calls but still scammers.

Forgot to mention that the number was 206-970-8393 on my cell but still give the same number to call back on 833-883-2216

You will need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation (by law they have to go back to the original creditor to prove you owe the debt), cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (this will be the best money that you have ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt, and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.  

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter, email, or text (postmarked in the case of a letter) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. Unless they have communicated it to you verbally at the beginning of your conversation. It also must contain the “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this communication must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified. If and when you get that communication you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.

I just received  one saying I'm being sued.

i've gotten 2 texts from this number saying my account is past due and fees and penalties are pending.  I see all the remarks here that confirmed my thought it is a scam.  No name, no account number, nothing.  blocking number but I'm sure they'll just use another.

This is all the info they sent & the day before it was just a text iwith the same generic message only with the first name. This doesn’t seem legit at all blocked
