I typed in Bestbuyaccountonline.com  I missed the . between buy and account. a message popped up saying my computer had been locked due to a virus. It told me to call this number for support NOT to shut off my computer blah blah. I finally got it to go away after shutting my computer down. I ran Web Root hoping it would find it so I could delete it. Maybe it was not a virus.

Probably not.  Your antivirus should be updated and used to check for viruses, and you can also used a program such as  Malwarebytes or Spybot (both free programs) to check as well (or use both)

Received a security alert while on the web. This is the phone number that it says to call to unlock my computer and it claims its microsoft. My computer isnt locked, dont think its microsoft, dont believe that someone stole my info for identity theft. Not going to call, i ran virus ware, this number is a computer scam. It is associated with a trojan they tried to place, ms security essentials removed the trojan.  Firefox listed the virus as high   threat was removed

This JavaScript malware is hosted on malicious sites. When you access these sites, this threat displays succeeding fake alerts that falsely imply you that your computer is infected by malware or has system errors. The fake alerts tell you that in order to fix the "problem", you need to call a technical support number. You may be charged by the technical support.
