SCAM!! said they were with IRS audit.  and I was in willfully committing fraud on may tax form 2008 through 2012 and they were going to freeze all my assets and a warrant be issued for my arrest within one hour.  

Got a call from this number this morning. Man with an accent said he was from the IRS and started asking questions as to who I was. I could hear telemarketing going on in the back ground. Do not answer any questions from anyone saying they are from the IRS.....ITS A SCAM!!!!

Wife got a call from a person from the IRS saying his name was Officer Matthews with the number 844-204-8531.

I just got a call on my cell phone from this number. Guy with a weird accent left a very threatening message that I've committed tax fraud and that i must call Officer Matthews back ASAP.

I quickly looked up online to see this scam.

Parents got a threatening message guy claiming he is Kenneth Matthews with the IRS.
If we did not call back 844 204 8531 we would have a warrant for our arrest.
Heavy accent, no names or anything mentioned. Its a scam trying to prey on the elderly.
Wow the police and government can't do any thing, what utter BS.

No they can't.  That's because the callers are located in either India or Pakistan and beyond the reach of US law.

Just got a message from this same "Officer Matthews"  of the "IRA", same phone number as above, claiming a warrant for my arrest would be issued if I didn't call back immediately.
I assumed it was a scam.... came on line and found these messages

Just got a call from "Officer Matthews" from the IRS and he tried to tell me I was in default on my taxes.
Good one!! I pay my tax person good money to make sure I don't have any issues like this.

Same call, they were going to issue warrant for my arrest if I didn't return call.  I always pay my taxes and have a great tax accountant to make sure it is accurate.  This is a great site for protection of consumers.

Guy left message on voice mail. He had a heavy accent, said he was from the IRS and I had a warrant out for my arrest. Said if I didn't call Mr. Mathews back. He said don't disregard this message. I know this is fraud because the IRS never calls you on the phone with out a legal letter before hand

Am I glad I looked up the number.  I thought it weird that my caller ID showed this number as a Toll Free number, and not specifically from the IRS.  After d--king around with "Officer Mathews" for about 15 minutes, I asked him why, when I look up this number on the Internet, I see comments about these type calls appearing to come from a telemarketing type organization - he promptly hung up. But I never could get him to give me a solution - not sure if he was eventually going to ask me for a credit card number or what. All he repeated ad nauseam was to expect the local law enforcement to arrest me within 2 hours, hold me without bail for 72 hours and then my criminal attorney would take over my defense. I think the most glaring error was stating that the State DA was going after Federal tax evaders.  Just like those guys that call from the IT Dept. at Microsoft, stating that my PC is infected. After hearing them out, I ask them what to do with my Apple laptop, and that call ends abruptly too.

Just got the same message from officer Matthews that if I don't call back immediate would be warrant for my arrest.    844-204-8531. His badge #. 2620559.  He hung up on mr before I got my case #.  These calls are scary

I just received a call from Officer Ken Matthews about a legal petition for IRS fraud leading to a potential arrest.  A total scam!

I had a voice message from 844-204-8531 on 12/5/14.  He stated that he is officer "Kenneth Mathews" from IRS.  Stated: "do not ignore this message.  It needs an immediate respond from yourself or your designated attorney".  I called back but it was always busy or self-disconnected.

Just got the same scam call.  Caller ID displayed as "anonymous".  I never answer a call where I do not recognize the #.  I am looking to see if the real IRS wants to know about this.

Just reviewed a phone recording from Claims Officer Hughes from the "IRS Tax Auditing Department".  The "investigator" went on to tell me the IRS had received a "legal petition" concerning tax fraud in my name.  Before they requested an arrest warrant be issued by the Federal Tax Court I should call him back at 844-204-8531 with my tax records.   I was warned to not ignore the call and to return his call immediately.

I just got a call, not using our names from this number from "officer Matthews" threatening a warrant and to not disregard the call
