pop up froze my computer. Holding me hostage to call them to get released.   Use task manager to shut them down, then clean cookies and hx from computer

pop up froze my computer also. Holding me hostage to call them to get released.

I also got a hostage popup and they wanted 2 hundred dollars to fix the supposed breach of security. I hung up and then restarted the computer and it was not affected so far. Hopefully I am done with them, but perhaps not.

I was dumb enough to fall for it. I went to the Web site logmein.com and gave them joint control over my computer. He showed me a Trojan that he said had infected my computer and showed me the ip adress of and country of origin of the people trying to steal my info. Then tried to tell me that I had to pay them 99.99 to secure my firewall for 6 months. I told him this didn't sound right and he said ok don't use your computer then and locked me out and hung up on me. I hope I cam get control of my computer back.
