received a weird looking email with me to contact them at this number but can't seem to to connect it in any way with CIBC (the people who supposedly sent me this email, even though I have no dealings with CIBC)

Got the same email and it was around the same time too.

Received a similar email stating the same thing. Have no accounts with their institution.

Received an email also.   Have not had CIBC anything for over 20 years, in maiden name only.   And never under my married name.  Like to know how they got me email?   Sorry lady, you're not scamming me.

I Just received an email that they have options for me regarding my account with them. I have not had an account for over 7years. I try to call and it says all the representatives are busy. I kept holding and it says I can leave a message and then the line goes dead. Is this legitimate is it really CIBC?

Received the same thing, from the same person.  I have no accounts with CIBC.   ABSOLUTE SCAM. DO NOT CALL NUMBER, DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR ACCOUNT NUMBERS.

Hi I reported earlier.
I spoke with the CIBC fraud department and they are aware of the scam email going around. Several people have reported so far.
If you are unsure, don't hesitate to contact CIBC directly.

If the scammer reads this post, please know I have followed your IP right down to your MAC address along with other personal intelligence and have sent the info to Canada's Anti Fraud department.

Received email as well.  Don't bank with CIBC.  This is a scam for sure.

Same1 844-213-4288 emailed me too. Same 1-844 num popped up on my ipad fishing and blocked my safari from working. I called apple support and they told me the site was fishing and I did the right thing by calling apple for help. Their scamming DO NOT GIVE ANY INFO TO THEM, DONT CALL THEM AND BLOCK THEIR EMAIL. THIS IS A NEW METHOD OF SCAMMING. BE SMART AND STAY SAFE.
