- J.| 5 repliesMcKinley Law Office. Debt Collectors. I had an outstanding overdraft fee from a bank account I had over tens years ago. They filed a judgement against me through McKinley Law Office which I was able to settle out of court. I had no idea I had an outstanding balance with any one, because it didn't show up on any of my credit reports. I got a call from my county clerks office saying they had a civil judgement against me and they were trying to serve me with paper work but I was never home when they came. They gave me the number to McKinley Law Office with a case number and I was able to settle the judgement out of court.

- MJG replies to J.So YOUR county clerk called & said there was a judgement against you and a summons was coming?????? How strange that you failed to give us the physical address & other information about these fine folks at McKinley.
One word to your story ---BULL!!!. That's not how it works. - Yoda1725 replies to J.Hi J.,
Your shill post is laughable. First off, you are barely literate. This is a hallmark associated with shills.
Now, you are claiming "McKinley Law Office" filed a judgement against you. So, they went to court and obtained a judgement against you. But of course you received no notices in the mail, right?
Then, the county clerks office called you saying they had a judgement against you, but you received no mail pertaining to the matter, right?
Then, you were directed to call "McKinley Law Office" and you were able to settle out of court, right?
Which lie is it? - Gunnar replies to J.BS! Debt collectors don't "file judgements". Judgements are awarded by the court after a summons is served & a hearing has been concluded. County clerks do NOT EVER call anyone about any "civil judgement" & the only thing they have to do with paperwork is the fact that they process it when someone files it. County clerks do NOT EVER give messages out for law firms! County clerks do NOT EVER have anything to do with legal process. Legal process is done by deputy sheriffs or process servers.
Don't come back here with any more of your lame crap. We'll eat you alive.
Skeff Ett Liv!
Gunnar - William replies to J.Shill, your lies are a mess.
"They filed a judgement against me ..."
Banks don't file judgements through law offices, ten years later. When they cannot collect, banks close the books on the account and sometimes sell the debt to third party debt collectors.
"I got a call from my county clerks office saying they had a civil judgement against me ..."
What a friendly county clerk !!
"and they were trying to serve me with paper work but I was never home when they came."
So you are saying the process server never delivered the court's paperwork, yet the court went ahead and found you in default? Then the clerk called you and said they could not deliver paperwork? - BigA replies to J.If you already had a judgement against you, why would they need to serve you with a summons? All they would have to do was to use the judgement to collect the money, whether by wage garnishment, lien on your house, or simply coming to the house to sell all your belongings at a Sheriff's Sale. But, why don't you give us the legal address of this wonderful debt collector, that way we can check them out for ourselves and also see what states they are licensed to practice law in.
- JessicaFor over 5 months now my husband has been getting phone calls from a "restricted" caller with a recording saying SOMEONE was trying to serve me a summons and to connect with them press "1" He pressed 1 every time to get to the bottom of this issue, each time it would drop his call. October 26th He got another phone call from once again another "restricted" caller saying that she was with the "legal department" from a County that I NO LONGER even live in, is trying to reach me with a summons to go to court with a collector. She of course wouldn't answer any of his questions he was asking, she insisted on ME calling 844-213-6801, to speak to someone about this. So then she gave him a "file number" and so I said fine, ill call and see wtf is going on. I call and "hello, litigation department, this is john how may i help you." Answers the phone, i tell him I'm tired of being called about a summons and i told him my file number, he then asks me for the last 4 numbers of my SSN, i tell him and then he says a credit card company has hired their department to contact me to serve me a summons to go to court. Asks me 3 or 4 questions VERY fast in a row and i answer them as i remembered him asking. The conversation goes on and then tells me since i will not pay the money they are saying i owe, that they will be taking action to garnish my wages from my employer. I then ask him who my employer is, and he tells me "Well why should i tell you who it is? " And i said, "Because I'm unemployed, so how will your company be garnishing my wages?" He then tells me, "Bawhahaha no, you do have a job and it was a trick question earlier on in our conversation about if you work part-time." I say, "I'm sorry but I don't remember being asked if i had a job." He then trashes me for where i ONCE worked when i was 16 years old and laughed at me because i was recorded and i lied about not having a job right NOW..... My husband and I looked at each other in amazement on how ignorant and how full of CRAP this "professional litigation department worker" was actually treating someone they were TRYING to get money out of. He never asked if i was working, he never asked where i even live or my phone number for them to TRY and come after me to collect money. He ended up hanging up on me when i said "Good luck trying to garnish my wages of an unexciting job i don't even have." I called the 844-213-6801 back 12 times that day because i was bored and wanted to annoy him and all but 1 time calling back he answered the phone, the next day Cristina was the only one answering the phone. Yeah, it was a little childish of me to call back so many times, but it was even more childish for the fake scam worker to call me at home and bother me for MONTHS to end up being told i didn't even have a job to ever pay them anything. The conversation i had, was very close to what J was saying, I could have settled it out of court, but I know when i see a scam. I see that scam companies don't train their workers very well these days.... Wouldn't your goal be finding out how to REALLY get money out of them? He got no where with me, so it made my day great and it was great entertainment. "John" didn't do his scam company well the day he got a hold of me. :D
