Someone keeps calling me at this number saying that they are gonna contact my employers and        something about a ligation, and filing it in the town of osceola county. not in osceola county. What do these threats mean

Danna, I recieved the same message but I have no idea what its about.

I have no idea who this is or what it's about. They called restricted and state the reason for the call.

They called my bf, my grandfather and my uncle and left messages that I had some allegations of fraus against me. Not once did they actually call me. They claimed that the state I live in has the case against me. They could not give me dates of the alleged fraud incidents. They only gave me 1 days notice to make payment arrangements before they would go further with the case. I'll becalling the FTC tomorrow.

SCAM!!! asked for the business license number to make sure it was legit and ended up getting threatened by them claiming someone will be showing up at my job. Contacted the FTC. As soon as I mentioned that, they were not very happy about it and hung up on me.

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.
