Someone named "Veronica Jones"  saying she is from the county (she doesn't say what county) and is contacting me because she wants to issue a summons regarding fraud.  She goes on to say that State law requires her to make an attempt to notify me before issuing the summons.  If I want to request a Federal Stand Down Stop order I should contact the arbitration company listed on the summons.  I can call them at 844-216-5648.  The biggest problem I have with this is that they are requesting me by a name I haven't used in almost 10 years.  I say go ahead and bring me the summons because I don't know of any legitimate  process server that gives you advance warning.

I also received a similar call today. They were using my maiden name. The person said their name was Christina Griffin and that she was with the court for my actual county. So I called the number and they transfer me to some one who said her name was Rosa Martinez, she proceeded to tell me in so many words that I committed fraud because an old payday loan company, who has been paid off since June 2013. So naturally I try to inform her why she should not be contacting me about something I've taken care or yrs ago and I proceeded to tell her how I am aware of companies who try to scam people out of money from old debts and she immediately became defensive and kept cutting me off and she eventually hung up in my face. So in an attempt to get her out of her square I called back and pretended to be irate and I eventually got her to use foul language and be very unprofessional. She refused to provide me with their address and also refused to let me speak with her supervisor. She kept hanging up on me. I am certain that this is some type of scam because I also contacted my local court office and confirmed that the person, Christina Griffin is not employed there which means this company is falsely representing themselves as a clerk of the court.

I received a call today from a Christina Griffin @844-216-5648. This person has the nerve to call my work a govt entity which is a big no no to be calling me at work and reported she is from my local county.  I was given the number above and case number.  And she is given me 48 hrs to respond to her call or i will be given a warrant.  This must be a scam according to the responses above.  I will contact the local authorities, court office, FTC and Better Business Bureau.  These types of phones need to be prohibited!!  Also these individuals need to stop being so unprofessional and creedy!! ;(

What types of phones, exactly?

Yes, real process servers do not warn you that they are coming.  She is also very probably lying about being from your county.  Since you work for a government entity, is there someone there you could report this caller to for further action?
The poster above you stated the caller refused to give any company information - VIOLATION of the FDCPA!

Someone called and said his name is Chris Scott, investigator for placer county.  I just called the court and they have never heard of him.  He said he is going to be at my address within 24 hours to serve me with papers.  If I don't contact the arbitration dept they will forward my information to the warrant dept.  They not only have the incorrect address they have a name I haven't used for over 10 years. But they are spoofing the actual court phone number.  Pretty sure this is not a legit call.....

It's definitely NOT legit. Read my friends posts above. If you talk to that clown again, tell him to hurry up with that paper. Then be sure to remind him that you prefer Charmin Ultra...

Debt collect scam do not pay them they will threaten you with legal action do not give them a penny call them record all info they tell you and contact your attorney general and play recording

I received a similar call from a New York phone number (631-318-3183) from a woman saying she was coming to serve me with fraud papers. 1. Tarrant County is not in New York, it's in Texas. 2. She used a former married name. I have not gone by that name since 2008. Furthermore, I changed it back to my maiden name prior to getting remarried. 3. Real process servers don't warn you they're coming. 4. When I asked what a "federal stand down stop order" was, she told me she didn't know. I don't either, and have a masters in political science, double minor in criminal justice and Poli Sci. I googled it and found this thread. Then I promptly hung up.
