Said that they were coming after me for not paying my taxes or something, it was automated, said it was CDN Gov. Could not really understand.

My wife got the call today.

The call she got was a robotic caller claiming to be the CRA and to call her back.  She did so and the machine picked up but then she spoke to a man,  he confirmed her details,  they had her first initial and surname,  she thought they said Anne Turner but then they repeated and she said oh M,  my name is Michelle,  they had our address and we confirmed that,  then they asked for our sons name which she told them and then the person on the other end of the phone said you have a nice voice,  you sound like your an 18 year old,  she is somewhat older and so divulged her age and so now they have allot of information about us and our family and our son and I am concerned they will use this information to conduct fraud and intercept any money that we are supposed to receive.

This is NOT CRA. The 844 code is in the US for one thing. Do not give them any information. If the CRA has a problem with your account and is going to freeze you bank accounts, they are not going to phone you and leave a message.

Automated call every 2 hrs. I don't pick up but very annoying

Atomated call regarding an unpaid tax bill. The info they had on me was from the phone book, and when I asked for more details the guy told me to "[***] OFF [***]". Clearly a scam, and sadly people will fall for it.

Just got the fake CRA call from 844-240-3112

This caller left 4 threatening messages on my voice mail at home claiming to be the CRA (Canada Revenue Agency). When I called the number back, (initially I was concerned) I was told I had filed fraudulent tax claims over the past 6 years and that I could avoid prosecution if I paid the amount owing immediately. It sounded like bs so I told them they could take me to court and said goodbye.

This is a scam to get your confidential information. Steal your money and possibly even your identity. Brad answered my call and with no indication of a transfer I was speaking to Raymond Scott ;agent 079421. I listened to what seemed like a scary explanation at first and I did not interrupt him, as he told me not to. After many threats and some verbal language that shall remain unrepeated. I asked for his agent number, then told him this didn't seem right. He told me this was real and they would dispatch police officers and sheriff's to my location and have me arrested. I told him that was okay that I was right next to a police station as we were talking( because I was) and that I would just go in there and tell them who I was and have them arrest me. He hung up.

They are a suffocation scam they had my wife freaking they are no revenue Canada we called the real revenue Canada and the police they been very successful in the USA ripping off alot of people of the last 2 years

Left a message on my phone so I did not talk to them, sounded like a scam anyway.

Today, August 3, at about 2 o'clock in the afternoon, got a call from 1-844-240-3112 claiming it was from Canada Revenue Agency and that I was owing them money for miscalculations in my income tax reports for the years 2008 to 2012. They guy spoke rapidly and only in English (I'm mainly French speaking but undertsand and speak English quite well). When I requested to be addressed to in French he kept going at high speed not wanting to get interrupted. He knew my civic address and threatened to send collectors and law enforcement agents at my home in the next hour. I answered him that I believed nothing whatsoever of his [***] and hung up. Obviously, if this was really RCA they wouldn't function in the manner. I would have received correspondence from them by mail. This whole thing was smelling fishy right off the bat. If they ever call back I'll tell them to get lost and that I reported their call to the police.

Spoke to a rep from the Ottawa Police Department and they confirmed this is a phone scam.  Pattern is they will keep calling 4 or 5 times and then give up.  Best course of action is to pick up and then immediately hang up, especially if you don't want nasty voicemails to deal with.  Do not engage these people,

I received a call on July 31, 2015. Tony Foster, Badge #15190, this person had a middle east accent and a high pitched voice (I think it was a woman). He threatened me, and I asked if I could put him on hold. I called the RCMP on my cell phone put it on the speaker, I put my home phone on the speaker as well, so the officer could listen. We listened to his rants and raves and for about five minutes, I could not take it any more and told him, he was full of ****, I asked the police officer if he had heard enough, the jerk on the phone says that was entrapment and hung up. They have not called back?  As a result I called the real CRA and asked them to change the phone number listed in "My Account" to another number so if they ever do call me for real, I will know.

Good job...they never know why to say.  I got the same call and couldn't even understand the person, they threatened legal action if I didn't call back and I am in Canada?

number was 613-366-5488 claimed to be CRA, gave me a file number said I owed money and they were going to file a criminal court case to collect some $3,000 of taxes they said I tried to defraud the government over the past 7 years in total. tax audit, CRA would not do that. they would call me in. I called police and reported it.
