- BMS| 2 repliesI received call today from a private number. Female on phone shredded the pronunciation of my name. stated that my name and s.s.# came across her desk and that i need to call 844-240-6231 with case # 36876. If i do not return call they will have no choice but to process against me in court.
I do not know who they are. - JoeyDee replies to BMSI'm guessing they are big-time scammers, trying to scare you into paying on a loan you don't have or some other fake obligation. There are probably hundreds of reports on this web site from people getting similar calls. Ignore the phone call; do NOT answer if they call again and whatever you do, do NOT talk to them or give them any money.
Just Google PHONE SCAMS and you'll see how bad it's gotten... scammers are everywhere. - tired of scammersGot this call yesterday and today says private number claiming they have a claim against my name and social gives the name Lisa Harris yet states to notify the claimant at 8442406231 second message she said at end you have been notified.

- JayYeah they have been calling me, and by mistake I picked up the phone. But the lady asked me if I wanted to be transferred to some department and that she had a letter for me. I told her to mail it, she said she couldn't, so I told her oh well and hung up. But I got another call today the lady stated she was Ms. Glassy with LPS services, and this was a follow up call, and that they got a email saying I wavied my rights and they would be stopping by my residence and place of employment tomorrow between 10am and 6pm and to be available, and that I could call the filing party @ 844-240-6231 and a ref number. These people have been calling me for over a year now.

- RG| 1 replyA private number has called me also, Jason Carrie or something, claiming I have a claim against me and need to call this 844-240-6231 and gave me some case number to present to them, saying he could not tell me anything about it . Some organization needs to do something about these people!

- Alfalfa replies to RGThis is (one of many) criminal extortion scams that have been going on for years. Many are operating overseas and out of the reach of US law enforcement, while others are operating within the confines of prison cells here in the US, using contraband cell phones. Others are using VOIP. Either way, they are able to disguise their identities and locations, making them next to impossible to prosecute. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting victims' personal identifying information and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.
- Luke DeKneefi have been receiving random phone calls lately that are not leaving messages with area codes 900's. However today out of the blue I received a phone call from a woman with the number 844-240-6230 that ripped apart the pronunciation of my last name. She said she has my SSN as has a claim against me and needs me to contact her ASAP. This is the second incident that has been brought up about a fraudulent claim from 2 years ago. This has happened before and the first my step mother payed off the claim to the debt collectors. Also private contractor apparently from Oahu where I am from was contacted by them and he called my wife (they have a lot often family members contacts) I was speaking with him and he said he was from here but later in his conversation he oddly asked me how was the weather and he was kinda stuttering throughout is talk with me. This getting weird and unrealistic

- LC replies to BMSSame thing happened to me - Friday and this morning. Used my married name, which has not been my legal name since 2013. She did not leave specifics on the company or the nature of the so called claim. I've seen and heard enough about this sort of scam - not intimidated and not calling anyone back.
- DCNot only did they call my wife's personal cell phone. This scammer also, bothered my wife at work by calling at her place of employment. Something needs to be done to stop these scammers.

- SGGot a call a few times...called on a block number on my cellphone. Then called at my work...this is borderline harassment. - They did the same thing everyone else is experiencing, saying my file came across their desk and that I need to call thiss 844- number to get myself off their calling list...or that they will keep calling. - Most likely a scam.
