Totally a scam

Called who I thought was Microsoft technical support...music playing when answers. I hung up & 1 second later got a call from this 844-242-0005...I answered, very rude lady asked why I hung up on her...not once did she identify as a Microsoft employee. I told her I didn't like her attitude & to not call back. OMG is there any Honesty left in this world???

Getting many calls from this number daily.....it's Geek Defenders llc/Koobface scam.

A woman called me from this number, and said that I had called her which I had not. I had called a similar number when a voice came on my computer saying my computer had a virus and to call this number so they could keep all my files from being stolen. I posted the numbers on my Facebook for my 2000 plus friends to call this [***] and [***]!

And have they been calling ? Not everyone wants to be exposed to these scammers.

Got red security warning on my computer.  I knew it was a scam.  So called the number and the asian guy said he would tell me what to do!.  I said "like H..." you will.  He said he was a "Microsoft technician" when I asked him who his employer was, he got really nasty.  So I hung up.  Then I had to run all the malware on my computer and my "defender" to get rid of the malware.  You can look up Red Security warning  on google.  Also look up 844-242-0005 asian guys phone number, and it will tell you it is a scam. The asian guy called me back on my cell and I started laughing at him when he asked me if we were disconnected.

this number originally got to me through my computer when I opened up an undesirable email. They stated my computer was infected and that noone else could fix the -Koobface" virus but them. so, I allowed them to scan my computer and told them I was not going to give them my credit card number but would mail them a check for $329.99. I reported them to the FTC and now am realizing the stupid thing I did and refuse to respond to them or pay them. Supposedely they are Viande LLC  adress 3524 Silverside Rd Wilmington delaware 19810-4929. Please be aware of these thick accented Indian scammers. I should have contacted Best Buy Geek squad from the second I opened up that Malware

Same thing happened to me but they wanted $499.00!!  The guy I spoke with told me he was in Texas!

Common practice by the Indian and Pakistani scammers.  If you immediately hang up on them; they'll immediately call back and ask why.  I usually tell them I'm hanging up now and then put the phone down on the desk with a loud rap.  Wait about 5 minutes and then hang up.  They usually won't call back at that point.

These people from India popped up on my computer and used the Microsoft logo.  Said they wanted to fix my computer because I had a Trojan Virus.

Yes it is a Scam.
Do not call the number in pop up windows.
Never let people who call you gain remote access to your PC. They will steal all your private information, give you malware, over charge you and generally ruin your day (or several). They are criminals. Do not answer unknown callers and do not call them back.

As they are now running a check on my laptop. I found out about them on my phone. I immediately turned off my laptop....unplugged it....do they still have access to my laptop?
