They said a warrant for my arrest would be issued today if I didn’t pay a debt owed, insisting I pay it that very moment. I told him I would pay it but I was working out of town. They called back within minutes with a police officer name from my home town and case number and stated I should pay now to stop the warrant. Fortunately my wife called the station and they said there was no such person by that name there and the case number was not theirs.

I got a call from someone stating they were from the police dept and there was a warrant out for my arrest and I should turn myself in by 5pm.  I was told I was being sued by an attorney and I could call US Legal Support at 844-242-0008 for further information. They gave me a case number, officer number and a badge number.  I needed to get a confirmation # to rescind the warrant. This person called me in April and I thought it was a scam and hung up on them.  He called back today.  So the threat of arrest in April didn't happen.  When I googled the phone # that this person called me from, it showed as the Chandler Police Dept.  I think they are "ghosting" legitimate phone #s.

There is no "ghosting" involved, especially since that term means something completely different.  You should take the time to look up the meaning of words you want to use.  Looks a lot better when you post or speak.

Police do not collect debts and they do not arrest people because they did not pay a debt.

I got the same exact call. I have a contact in my phone titled Bartlett Police Dept (non emergenvy) and this is what showed up on my screen. He even told he his "name and badge number".

Received a call from what looked like our local police station.  A man claiming to be a detective said there was a warrant for my arrest and to contact US Legal law firm at 844-242-0008 with case number B968580 or I'd be arrested at 10 am.  I asked for his name, badge number and desk extension and took all the info down.  Hung up and called the non-emergency number/police station and a real police officer confirmed it was a scam - that it happens pretty often and that scammers just use a simple computer program to spoof the police's phone number.

Just received a call from what looked like my City from an officer "Sean Parker". He said they have a warrant for my arrest and I need to turn myself in. I asked why they are doing this over the phone.  He said I can call the U S Legal Support at 844 242 0008 case K735458 and they will tell me what was given to them to collect.  They are trying to give me an opportunity to pay this without having to arrest me

Received a phone from a person impersonating a Police Officer. Gave me his name, which was Kevin Scott and his badge #: 8291. He stated that I would need to report to my local Police station the next day by 2pm or there would be a Arrest Warrant issued for me. Gave me a phone number to call: 844 242 0008, which is supposedly for an Attorney that can "get me out of this". I called that number just to see what would be said. I spoke with a person that identified himself as the Lead Attorney for a company called US Legal Support, his name: David Williams. I gave him the case #: B968580 I was given by "Police Officer" Kevin Scott. I let that person say what he had to say, basically he could "fix whatever" if I paid him. Then I laid into him!! Informed him that I spoke to a Real Police Officer I know at my local Police Station, there is no warrant for my arrest and this is a SCAM CALL!! Also informed him that it's against the law to impersonate a Police Office or an Attorney!! BTW...to those reading this, the "Real Police Officer at my local Police Station informed that they also receive these SCAM CALLS. they just put on speaker and get a good laugh!!!
