Left a message regarding my social security and fraudulent activity and that I should call back before legal proceedings begin. Sounds like a total scam.

I just had this happen as well.

I received the same message 2 hours ago.  It's a scam.

Same! I just got this call and I got spooked

They left a message saying, "There is a legal action filed against me for fraudulent activity and to 'kindly' call back at that number before the legal proceedings." Anytime the government needs to get a hold of a citizen, they do so in legal letter format and in writing. Do not believe this scam. It's a way to have you call back and verify your personal information for their use. The government doesn't need verification of personal information. We also have a right to knowledge of any legal proceedings against us in writing. If nothing is in writing, then it's fraud. Disregard those messages. Also, the government isn't that tacky so as to leave a half-recorded message.  If your answer the call and it's live, do not give your information out over the phone. There is no need.

Same message.  Disregard if you want, but I called them back and gave them my SSN, DOB, first street i lived on, and my mothers maiden name. NOT!

Scam garbage

I received a voicemail saying the same! It has to be a scam

This number has called me repeatedly. Computerized voice telling me to contact them before legal action is taken. Rattles off some # I have not called it back. Guess if it's the real deal, I'll get someone serving me with papers.🤷‍♀️

Got a call from Officer Lisa, about my tax avoidance and fraud case that has been opened against my name, and a case number for reference. Had to laugh, at least they're getting smarter and using a recording with an American accent instead of someone obviously calling from a call center in India. Thought I'd google the number *just in case*, and this page popped up. I love that in some cases its Tax issues, while others are told there is an issue with their SSN.
Remember, the Government will never contact you with some pre-recorded message. If it's not in writing, it's not real.

Just got the same [***] call. To boot, my # is on the do-not-call-registry, so they're obviously violating that as well......................not that they care, or that our gov will do anything to punish them for violating.

Received this call just now—the second time—saying I needed to call. Tax evasion and fraudulent activity.

Got a message about “appearing before the magistrate.”  No idea how they got my work number!

Dept. of the treasury with a case number, sounds like scam to me

Very aggressive & threatening call insinuating arrest within the hour without compliance to pay the “owed balance” of $5426 to the IRS

Said that there was a judgement against me and gave a case number and said I would be in jeopardy if I did not call back 844-245-2380 to settle this matter
