These people are scammers.  they will take possession of your computer (allegedly to fix it) and will not give it back to you unless you pay more money.  They will not take a credit card, they will only take a debit card.  Within minutes they will debit your account with hundreds of dollars with purchases from various locations.  You will have to be issued a new card by your banking company to stop the charges.  The debit card bank will only refund the charges made on the day you report it.  DO NOT ACCEPT ANY CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER.

I purchased the microsoft  office 365 and was instructed to go to www..com/setup. When I did this an error page popped up and said he got a message my download woudn't install and he was from microsoft support. He told me to hit the window key and he'd run the program for me. I foolishly did this and he went on and on about all the programs that weren't running on my computer and why the software wouldn't load. Also asked me how many devices on my IP were we using because all of them would be affected. Then he asked for $299.99 for him to fix my computer. (all this time he's in my system). I told him I wanted to run it pass my son-in-law as he'd set the computer up and I dont'want to do anything to mess things up. He said if I had called back, it would be another $100 tech fee. So I asked him for his number and told him I'd call back. After talking with my s-in-l, he said it was a scam and I shouldn't have let him in my pc. He then ran my AVG to see if there were any threats and took the software  card and downloaded it for me. My concern is he has my IP number, my microsoft product key and my email address. Am I in danger of him hacking my credit card and bank information?

I received a pop up on my computer that my McAfee had expired and that there were threats on my computer. I kept receiving alerts about it and so I foolishly purchased the McAfee Total Protection. I then called for a refund after I realized that I really didn't need this product. I must have called the number that was provided when I purchased the package and this number was in fact a spam and led me to a "tech team" that proceeded to tell me I had threats on my computer and that they could fix it by accessing my computer - who knows what they did from this point forward. They explained that in order to remove the threats, it would cost $200 additional dollars. That's when I realized something was wrong. I said no and hung up. I then called a couple hours later to demand a refund and this is when the folks at Mcafee told me there was no record of me speaking with anyone from their tech support team and that I had been scammed. Unbelievable.
