This lady is persistent and claims I have an insurance civil complaint against me. Does not stop calling..... unreal.

called 3 days in a row from (513) 647-5988, leaving looking for my dad. the 844 number was left in the voicemail. my number has never been associated with my dad so idk what’s going on. he also doesn’t know anything about it. definitely sounds like a scam

This woman whom I can barely understand keeps call my number looking for my nephew, she's not trying to listen to a word you say, she just want to talk to the person she's calling for. Well good luck with finding him.

Same thing - woman called claiming to be from a company called AAC and I have to respond immediately or they will have to "move forward without my consent".  Two warning signs - they say they've tried to contact me multiple times but this is the first time they've called, and two, they couldn't even be bothered to get my first name right.

I keep getting multiple calls from this number that says a case file number and I have to call to prevent further escalation. I also received texts saying they are on behalf of Parkwood. Blocked the number..

Same story. Got a message on my cell claiming for my ex-wife who i divorced 22 years ago. Same story case file and i have to call to prevent escalation.  The cell phone i have was never in anyway connected with my ex-wife from long ago.

Received phone call and text messages saying to call back before this escalates. I have no idea what this is about claims to be Parkwood. I never heard of this before

Same story with us! Calling my husband - looking for my son. My husband is not my son's father. Never would his number be associated with my son. Definitely a scam. Blocking the number!

I received two phones calls yesterday for the same reason and I blocked the number.  However, today I just received a message saying they are on behalf of "Parkwood".   Blocked the number.

Same calls. Even called my sister and grandparents. When I told him I wasn't giving any information to a random 844 number he hung up on me.

Can barely understand the woman. Called yesterday and today giving to the 844 number to call with some sort of reference to refer to. Can't make out who she is calling from. Blocked the number.

So what happened?

Debt Extortion Scammers

The vague scare tactic message is designed to panic a victim into calling back.

Most debt collectors will use a certain amount of pressure to convince you to pay the debt. After all, they often don't get paid unless you pay. Be suspicious of a debt collector who uses an unusual amount of pressure to get you to pay immediately, particularly if they also use scare tactics to get you to pay right away. For example, a debt collector is scamming you if it :

• threatens you with a lawsuit and tells that you can avoid the lawsuit by paying right away
• Says a Process Server  or Courier is coming with papers to sign
• Threatens to call / go to your place of employment
• Insists you have been notified, served or are non-compliant via phone message(s)
• Refuses to give a company name or verifiable Contact source
• Refuses to send proof of debt via US mail

A sure sign of a debt collection scam is a collector that wants to you to pay via wire transfer or another method that can't be traced. If the payment method can't be traced, you'll have a harder time getting the authorities involved.

If the creditor sounds completely foreign, or you know you never had an account with that business, there's a chance it's a scam. Never pay a collection you don't recognize. You have the right to request written proof of the debt from the debt collector before you send payment.

Calls family members asking for me

Me too! What’s Parkwood.

Just got a call this morning from the same lady stating that my file was placed with their office and to immediately call to avoid negative action.

Calling for my 21 yo son who has 0 debt. Use to get similar calls last year for my ex-husband I divorced 10+ years ago.
