Threaten me said they would contact national check with my SSI number

Said that I have a legal matter I need to call them back about and threatened to report my social security number

Said I had a loan from 2019 from an old email that I had back in 2016, I have not worked for that company since 2016.  Loan that does not some familiar.

Call to said there was a complaint against me and that were they were calling Social Security SSI excuse me and calling checkmate something that I was in trouble with the law. It’s a scam a big scam

Left a voicemail on my business phone...here's the transcription

"This is mid ary mediation group contacting you in reference to a complaint that came into the office concerning you. Due to being unresponsive. We do have to report your name and social security number to the national check systems. If it be yourself or your representing attorney have any questions or concerns, they can contact our office at (844) 2465554. Or you can press 1 to be connected now."

They left this voice mail on my phone:

What is this in regard to?  I have no knowledge of this and first time getting calls or any information.  Stop with this scam

Simply reading other posts, it would appear to be a debt collection call and likely a shady one who uses illegal tactics to try persuading a debtor to pay up.

The vague scare tactic message is designed to panic a victim into calling back.

Most debt collectors will use a certain amount of pressure to convince you to pay the debt. After all, they often don't get paid unless you pay. Be suspicious of a debt collector who uses an unusual amount of pressure to get you to pay immediately, particularly if they also use scare tactics to get you to pay right away. For example, a debt collector is scamming you if it :

• threatens you with a lawsuit and tells that you can avoid the lawsuit by paying right away
• Says a Process Server  or Courier is coming with papers to sign
• Threatens to call / go to your place of employment
• Insists you have been notified, served or are non-compliant via phone message(s)
• Refuses to give a company name or verifiable Contact source
• Refuses to send proof of debt via US mail

A sure sign of a debt collection scam is a collector that wants to you to pay via wire transfer or another method that can't be traced. If the payment method can't be traced, you'll have a harder time getting the authorities involved.

If the creditor sounds completely foreign, or you know you never had an account with that business, there's a chance it's a scam. Never pay a collection you don't recognize. You have the right to request written proof of the debt from the debt collector before you send payment.

Same as others noted, stating some hearing & mediation group and there’s a complaint against me , since I’m unresponsive they’re reporting to national check system

Received same message as above apparently Monday. Been having cell problems and just received voice mail.  Coincidentally I had a ominous email from my payroll dept to call them tomorrow.  Freaking out. I have zero outstanding debts I am aware of. I tried to call back but they were "out of office".  What are my rights?
