I am getting constant calls saying why security system has an issue and they need to come in fix it..  an interruption.  No company name or anything so I feel this is someone trying to get in my house.  I can't find info tied to the number on a security company.

It is just xfinity calling. It is their tech team. U can call to verify

No its no xfinity. Its a fake.

It IS Xfinity. We didn't let them schedule anything and we called Comcast. They verified the problem and we scheduled a tech visit with them. We also told them that the people who called - twice - had no idea why they were calling; evidently they were given a limited script and told to schedule a visit.

I've now gotten four calls from the same number.  The voicemail is always the same:   They're calling from Comcast about an "open service order" (I have no open service order) on your account.  Although you may or may not be experiencing any problems at this time, our network monitoring system has identified issues with your home service and we would like to schedule an appointment to check the equipment inside your home.  This will be at no cost.  Please call us at 844-251-3974 between 8 AM and 8 PM local standard time.  We need to speak with you in order to schedule an appointment. You may being to experience service issues if they appointment does not take place.  Again, the number to reach us at is 844-251-3974.  Thank you and have a great day...

We received 2 robo-calls from 844-251-3974 today, claiming to be Comcast and telling us to call back to schedule a service appointment. I signed in to Comcast and got on Chat. Was told this was NOT A LEGITIMATE COMCAST PHONE NUMBER. Then they sent an email with instructions for blocking the number.

This is a scam from India.

I have received five calls from this # over the past 3 days. The first two times they left a message.  Same text as described by others above.  However, no mention of Comcast.  What's really funny though is that last week (Wednesday) and again today an Xfinity truck was parked in my driveway and on my front street as well.  Both times that he was here he climbed the phone pole and was working on the lines.  He knocked out my electric and internet each time.  Up to that point I was not having any issues with either.  As it turns out, the service calls by Xfinity are legitimate but the phone calls are definitely a scam.  It was strictly preventive maintenance but it would have been nice to have been notified.

Called Comcast Security Dept and verified this number is NOT a Comcast number. SCAM!

I'm not calling anyone back, I know I don't have a problem w/my comcast and if I do, I'm calling comcast direct.  This number will be blocked.  Do Not call them, It's more than likely a scam. You can report issues w/your comcast directly online thru your xfinity account.

Hilarious, because when we actually have a problem with Comcast, we can't get them to come out for days.  Now they're calling because they somehow know we have issues with our inside wiring?  I don't think so.

I received a call from 8440251-3974. I don't believe this is a Comcast number as the caller identified themselves. Please block this number.

People are suspicious because even legitimate company numbers get spoofed.  People are suspicious because  as much as 50% of phone calls are spam.  People are suspicious because Americans alone lost $10.9 Billion to phone call fraud.  So no matter what company calls you or what the caller ID says, never give out personal information or confirm anything, not even your phone number, unless you initiated the call.  So if you are, like most people, suspicious of this number, call the number on your bill or the number listed on their web site.  Stay safe.

This number is left on voicemails as a fake Comcast callback number. DO NOT CALL IT. It's a scam. If you want to confirm anything call the number on your bill.
