- Pat| 1 replyIts a scam!!! They tried the day before on my computer. Screen locked up, and was told to call the microsoft number for support. Said my computer was compromised, and they needed to scan. Also wanted 399.00 for 5 mo. Support, and 3 yr protection. I almost gave it to them, but decided to change my bank passcode from another source, and it never came out. Had to go to bank, and change all passcodes, and notify credit cards!...beware...microsoft will never call you, if you get this on your screen, just power down, and unplug it.

- VictoriaSCAM. These people claim to be technical support from Microsoft. A pop-up appears on your computer saying you have been infected with viruses & to call their number immediately. They will attempt to gain remote access to your computer & pull up fake screens to show how badly your computer is infected. They will try to scam you for hundreds of dollars to "clean up" your computer. Almost fell for this last year, they just called back to try to get me to "renew" their services. Avoid at all costs!!!!!
