- melindaTons of calls. Calling from private # leaves message to call this 844 # back with reference number. Wants to serve me at my employer some time sensitive documents.
- CoreyThese psychos began calling me yesterday-unknown, no caller id, left me a vm saying they had time sensitive documents to serve to my home and work address and actually said my home address, gave a 844-284-8889 # with a reference number said must call back within 24 hours. Also left a vm for me on my daughters phone and my 75 year old aunt's phone (who was scared half to death). The calls began Friday around 4:40 and I called back this morning and the vm say's you reached the corporate office, leave a message-??? no company name or anything.
- anon| 1 replyThis number called my husband, mother in law, brother in law, and mother threatening to serve me with legal documents at my husbands work. When i called back, they had specific info (credit card debt, my social #, and addresses....) and were trying relentlessly to get me to sign up for a payment plan to pay off this credit card debt. I said I dont use a checking acct, they quickly said Ok then can you get a prepaid debit card and pay? I never did pay them and im glad!!! How did they know all my info?!?!?!?

- Tamianth replies to anonGoogle your name and also your phone number, any place such as Spokeo that comes up, make them remove the number. That being said, some of the online sites have been hacked for info, so if you fill anything out online, its easy to track a person. Also here:

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans
Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010 FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691
The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.
According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.
The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers. - Anon| 1 replyReceived a phone call from this number also a few mins ago saying they will be here in about 1 and half hour to serve me a subpeona at my work place. Is this a scam?
- CWG40 replies to AnonYes it is a scam. See previous notes. Nobody is going to show up. Real process servers don't warn you in advance. Don't call these people back; don't talk to them; don't give them any information and DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY.

1. You have defrauded a financial institution
2. You owe an unpaid payday loan
3. You have a warrant due to an unpaid loan
5. You will receive a court summons
6. Authorities are coming to arrest you
7. Anything similar to above,
a. Do not give them any information or verify any information for them
b. Tell them you know they are a scam operating illegally and that you are filing a complaint with the appropriate authorities
* File a complaint with the FBI on their Internet Crime webpage http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx

The more information and complaints there are, the better the chance of getting these criminals to stop (or at least reduce the frequency). [abstracted from another site]
They continue to call you, tell them you'll file an extortion complaint with the local police.
