- JuliusAutomated message left. Didn't wait until after the beep so only got "again, this is 844-blah blah blah." Don't know who it is or why they called.
- But I haven't goneThe message starts in the middle but repeats saying this is about a "personal business matter" regarding a recent visit to "a US acute care clinic." I haven't made any recent visits to acute care clinics, especially not ones that would be contacting me about a "personal business matter" (read: debt).

- AnnoyedI got a call from 844-312-3491too. Same thing. It's a spam bot saying I visited an acute care center. Don't have those in my area. Google says they exist but in Delaware. Just block and ignore.

- BigA replies to MEH| 6 repliesIt is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it. You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

- BigA replies to RoxanneOk, let's look at that statement. Are they the original creditor? The answer to that is no, because the Doctor is the original creditor. They do billing for the original creditor and collections as a third party. Therefore, in my estimation, they are a debt collector as defined by the FDCPA. Maybe you have something to prove you are right? Such as some case law? If so please cite it.
- Michelle| 1 replyGot an automated call from 844-312-3491 saying that "me or someone in my family" had an outstanding emergency room or clinic balance. The company was US Acute Care Solutions. I looked up the company on the internet and called them. They confirmed that this number was one of theirs. I gave her my phone number to see if it was in their records, it wasn't. I called the other number back and told them that I wasn't in their records and to quit calling me. The next day, I got the same call from this number, 866-828-1166.

- Chris P. BaconI received a call from this number on my cell phone. Since it was an 800# I let it ring and go to voicemail. The message that was left was a robot voice/recorded loop saying they were attempting to collect a debt from a prior emergency room visit. I haven't been to any emergency rooms or even doctors offices lately, so I'm assuming this call is probably for the person who had my phone number before it was mine; I also have been receiving calls from PNC bank for someone who is not me.

I did visit an emergency room, but I paid off the bill that same day.
Must be junk bonds. I say the most helpful response here has been BigA's.- Caller: Acute Care Solutions

- Stuart C.They are a company that provides doctors in the Emergency Department. Many insurance companies won't pay for them due to being outside of the hospital. A huge scam company as they don't let you know and when you have paid the hospital suddenly these people start the calls. Marking as scam suspicion as it should be the hospital that pays the doctors, not someone else.

- remoleroI have a serious hearing problem, and I did go to ER a month ago; The people in the hospital told me to pay ONLY whatever bill arrived on the mail when they arrived (two separate bills did arrive) but these people at 844-312-3491 continued to call me, before AND after I paid. So they've gone to the blocked calls pile. They keep sending voice mails (which I can't understand because recordings are unintelligible to me) and whenever I personally answered the phone (before I finally blocked them) there would be no response, or it would be a "press one now" BS, which is symptomatic of scammers.

- JosephBeen calling me for about 6 - 7 weeks. Since they're blocked the message always goes to voicemail. I start to listen, hit 7 and delete them. I've not received a bill in the mail so I'm not going to acknowledge them. Bothersome but not so bad that I'm willing to waste time on them.

- TBird| 2 repliesThis is a legitimate business. Dr.'s all over the US work through them in emergency rooms, hospitals and offices. They are NOT a collection agency, they are the employer of the Dr and contacted out. I'm getting calls and have not been to a Dr. ER, or clinic in 20 years. Half of a vague phone message is always left on my machine. Guessing someone used my number at random when they received medical care. They don't have my name or any info about me what-so-ever. If you don't owe, contact them. If you do owe, pay your bills so everyone else does not have to deal with increased rates due to thieves and cheats.
