left me a warning alert on my computer that my computer was asked and told me to call this number to get my computer unlocked.

I got the same situation, so, what did you do?

Indian or Pakistani tech scammers.  Don't return the call.  Be wary of 844 area code calls, scammers love to use it. Basically they are trying to get access to your computer so that can mess with it and steal private information.

It is a scam!  I called the number and asked what company they were calling from?  I couldn't understand them b/c there was so much telemarketing noise in the background. I was hoping the person said "apple" b/c I have a Mac and there was a pop up saying that my computer is being attacked and that I needed to call.  When he didn't say "apple", I immediately hung up the phone and installed my AT&T Macfee for Mac books.

I had the same thing happen to me just now.  I opened my Safari browser on my MacBook and this error message popped up.  I'm totally not tech savvy but there was a number to call for immediate assistance.  There were a few give aways in the message (one in which I mentioned to the guy on the phone, in retrospect my mistake) which was the excess usage of exclamation points.
He was very convincing especially since I know nothing about computers but I've got to thank Google for their help because when he had me look up the following website:  www.fastsupport.com, Google suggested as the second search result: 'fast support scam'.  So immediately I clicked on it and found out I was being played.  Beware!
