I need to correct myself. 2Gbps from Comcast is $300 per month plus up to $1,000 in installation fees. Here's the quote I just read:

The new Gigabit Pro service is priced at $299.95 per month. Comcast also says that “fees of up to $500 for installation and up to $500 for activation apply,” so you really will be paying top dollar for this new service tier.

Still compare that to Municipal broadband or Google fiber which offers 1 Gbps for around $60 to $70.

Called 8/12/15 at 9:26 am. Caller ID showed "Unknown Name". It was blocked by Sentry robo call blocker. In response to other posts, the telecom companies created the problem when they said law required they put through every call! Now modified that they "may" offer blocking services, but it is too late. Verizon only offers blocking to those who subscribe to their package: phone/Internet/TV. Verizon admits that because of number spoofing and VoIP, they do not have the technology to stop this  These calls can originate from foreign countries using the Internet.Am elderly and no longer have any incoming service because EVERYONE is blocked. yet I pay $60/month for this. No one can reach me in case of emergency!  My excessive telemarketing began shortly after signing up on the Do Not Call list. Between 1/1/15 and 8/12/15 have received 389 such calls--am keeping a list.

Nuisance call.  I did not pick up.  They left no message.  The government and phone company should stop them.

Calls at least twice a day. From early morning till late at night. When I answer they hang up everytime

This jerk asked for someone who passed away three years ago.  He was very argumentative and that he just talked with her a few months ago.  Wanted to know if I owned the property that he had the mentioned on the phone.  I told him not to call this number again, and he promptly said he would call tomorrow.  There is no other name for a creature like this but a low-level, lazy, son of a bitc....!

Carola from "Family Builders" here in Oxnard called to set an appointment for a free estimate on contracting/construction work. I questioned her about her company's contractor's license number and address. She told me they aren't allowed to give it out over the phone, because someone got a hold of that information and printed fake business cards and did shoddy work with their license number, but they were eventually caught. She also told me that she successfully ran a talent agency in Hollywood for decades. I mentioned to her that our number is on the National Do Not Call Registry, and she informed me that the NDNCR actually sells those phone numbers to telemarketers. I suggested to her that if their company wants to present itself as reputable, it ought to follow laws pertaining to telemarketing, and never withhold their license number or business address. She told me to grow up, put me on hold with about one minute of elevator music, and then hung up.

I got a call from this number and the person wouldn't speak to my machine. The caller id said 'Toll Free Caller' which is just a way to hide their identity. Anyone hiding their identity is a scammer. There isn't a legitimate business that operates by hiding their name and location by blocking caller id and any type of reverse trace only scamming criminals do that. So block this number and report it to the FTC, FCC or the Attorney General so there is a record of its usage.

Obvious telemarketer.  I answered the phone as a fictitious business and since that wasn't the name they were looking for, they hung up.  Scum thief telemarketers and criminals will ask for you by name.  Legit businesses will respect the Do Not Call list (which I am on).

This loser has called again today at 1:40 PM PDT. I hope they get arrested for illegal calling.

I've received several calls from this number always regarding home contracting services. A man usually uses the name "Henry Gibson" and he wants to come and give an estimate. I asked him to stop calling and he replied "I will stop calling after you sign the contract." This is a total scam and a VoIP number I believe.

You can call VoIP at 877-478-6471 and press the prompt for tech support and they will investigate it.

They called again. I blocked them forever!!!!

According www,800notes.com above, many people indicated its used 877-xxx-xxxx  and xxx-xxx-xxxx , not toll free number ( 877 ,844 ) to call Some times it used V123456789012345, v + 15 digits. It has called thousands people randomly.

Another call from these morons.  Remind me again why we pay the phone companies large amounts of money to NOT protect us from these parasites...

The desperation is obvious when another unwanted call from this toll-free number arrives just 3 weeks since the last call on July 30.  When the call rolled to voice mail, the caller left no message.  According to other posters, this is a boiler-room, robocalling, scam artist who is spoofing and/or impersonating a local utility company in order to sell home repair or home energy services.

According to my neighbor, Tiger, Ventura County (see above), this scam artist also uses other local numbers, including 714-587-7755, a Huntington Beach cell phone number, and (818) 237-0146, a Burbank cell number.

According to Lisa (see above) "These are con artists posing as local "contractors" using fake names such as "Family Builders" or "Green Builders" or some other made-up name. You can hear other people in the background also making calls.... They refuse to give their contractor's license number over the phone  saying they will give you all the information when they arrive.  When you ask for the name of the company's owner, they give you a fake name."

Folks, these people do not offer bona fide services of any kind.  They specialize in wallettechtomy -- surgical removal of the wallet!  They're not getting mine, and they shouldn't get yours.  They deserve an all-expenses-paid (by taxpayers) vacation to the graybar hotel.  Recommend Supermax, the U.S. penitentiary in Florence, CO, where they'll have the Unabomber and Zacarias Moussaoui for company!

Picked up the phone to hear nothing. Now this number called all with in less than 5 mins .

This number called about 25 times this morning.  The last one told me my address and said he'd be over.  Up till then he just said "hello" when I answered but nothing more.

We have the entire 844 area code blocked.  Our phones do not ring - not even once!
