Rec'd a call from BGE (local Gas/Electric Utility 800-265-6177) Dispatch Services, informing me "as a courtesy" that a service technician was being dispatched to our office in the next hour, to disconnect our utility service for lack of payment.  I needed to call 844-331-3326 to discuss payment arrangements.  Our account is on automatic billing - so, something sounded fishy.  When I spoke to someone at the 844 # I was informed that the "computer" wasn't showing any payments for the May and June billing cycle.   To not have my service disconnected I needed to pay $563.91 by credit card immediately.  He offered a $75 a month discount on my BGE bill, since I reported that I had not received the USPS notices that were sent.  He also guaranteed that I would get my money back, once error was found. My online account was showing all payments and the June payment wasn't due until June 26.
I called the listed service number at BGE - and they informed me that this was a scam, largely of businesses and commercial clients.   This is the second one of these scams I have run into --- THIS WEEK!

I received the same call but they said it was Alabama Power

Same call today to our Montgomery Alabama hotel saying Alabama power coming to disconnect over $1,500 past due bill. Total scam. We don't even use Alabama Power

received the same call.  They claimed to be PSE&G.   Said I owed money on my electricity bill.  But I actually use a different utility provider.  So I knew it was a scam pretty quickly.

Just got a call from 8443313326 and was told that my May payment wasn't received and I would have to go to Walgreens in Cherry Hill and send cash in a MoneyPak so that my electric wouldn't be disconencted.

Let PSE&G know about this SCAM CALL!

Called my business saying owed Money and even acted like they were PSEG! SCAM!

I'm a PSE&G customer and just received the very same call, with the caller ID spoofed to be from PSE&G's legitimate toll free customer service number: 800-436-7734

I too am on automatic payment, so I checked my online banking and yes, the bill was paid, and then I check PSE&G's website, and yes, my bill was paid and account in active current status.
