Called asking for my dad and saying they had a package to deliver, and had tried but had been unable to. BS, since someone​ is home all the time. Gave a file number and said he needed to contact that number and they would explain what was going on. LOL, same [***], different callers like. It's probably the same ones who call from 84-369-4005. They're such liars and scam artists.

called asking for my brother... said it was Wayne Allen from Nationwide Carriers and he needed to contact him for a delivery DA115376... when I asked questions about the delivery he got pushy, so I disconnected... He called back 5 more times in less than a minute. called my ex wife a few minutes later. sounds like a scam.

I Got a call from a private number The person said his name was Tom Smith and he said he had a time sensitive letter that needed to be delivered and they had several failed attempts but someone is always home so that's a lie and he also stated i need to have my id to get the letter he couldnt tell me what it was concerning so he gave me a number 844-369-4006. When I called them They were asking me to verify my ss number and because I wouldnt she didnt want to talk to me so we hung up and a about 10 min later they called my mom phone and when she told them she was reporting them they hung up then called back tgen they were just silent on the phone

I just received a voice mail from this number that said he was DA119863 and I need to contact 844-369-4006 within 48 hours or he would have to take actions.

Been getting calls trying to get in touch with my brother.  It's all a scam.  They are answering when I call "American mediation company"...its all crap.  Call your attorney general and report them  that's what I am doing right now.

Actions about what?  What firm?  They are full of poop...don't even give them a thought.  They leave vague messages that make it sound like someone has a complaint against you.  NOT  Same number calling all kinds of people.  Once your number calls back, then it flags the "type" of call.  Ours was mediation for some kind of legal action.  Look above this thread, the others are deliveries..(probably want funding for the package) bunch of asshats.

We got a call from this number today, and that they're a law firm for legal action and wanted $ to prepare legal filing fee's, it's a scam.

Someone needs to call the better business bureau on them. The more the better. They cannot threaten to take action Unless they have action to take.

Got a call from a restricted number at 5:04 pm, answered it wondering who would be calling me at all, let alone from a restricted number. They started by asking for me by my name, I said yes, this is me. They say this is *unknown* from "Nationwide" and that something "he didn't know what" had tried to be delivered to me today but I wasn't there to sign for it. I was home all day. He gave me the phone number 844-369-4006 with a code to give them after calling them, it was DA113-073, then he made me repeat both numbers back to him. Said he would call back in about 30 minutes to see if I got it straightened out. I immediately looked up the number and found these posts, all form the past week, even one from just 30 minutes ago, near the same time I was called. Instead of calling the number I am writing this to tell what my experience was. Don't know what kind of scam it was but it certainly is some sort of scam.

Criminals masquerading as debt collectors attempt to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged (they use the bad check or hot check claim a lot) and go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished without actually being sued or going to court, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this, all for an alleged or nonexistent debt.  One of the tricks they use is to call your family, friends, neighbors and/or places of employment (past or present or both) to create panic and embarrassment so that their intended victim calls them and they can scare that person into paying their extortion money.  They will use the words “Mediator”, “Arbitrator”, or “Law Office” to make you believe that they are something other than a debt collector want-a-be and that they don’t have to follow Federal and State collection laws.  They do have to follow those laws, but they won’t.  They mention that they have received a Fax document, to create the sense of urgency.  They also tell you that if you fail to call them back you are "waiving your right to council", which is pretty much nothing but hogwash.  They also use the “process server” ruse who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number where they will ask for money to “make it go away” (this is actually the same place, they work in teams, one pretending to be the server, and the other usually pretends to be a lawyer).  Process servers do not ever call ahead so that you can dodge them.  Process servers get paid to serve papers, nothing else.


It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.  

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Received a phone call on a Saturday on April 15th at 10:20 AM stating that the call is in attempt to call my brother, and it is in regards to a complaint that was filed against him. She stated her name was Jessica, and to call the department that will handle this matter at 1-844-369-4006. Sounds extremely fishy because there was no mention of what Business ort Department that they were from. Thank goodness that I wasn't the only one who had this experience. The caller ID also came up as  "Unknown". Mind you that I didn't check my voicemail until the 23rd of April due to my notifications being screwed up on my phone.Haven't heard of them since after the 15th.

Received a call on April 12 stating that there was an "...action being taken against Jonathon B*******..."  I needed to immediately call 844-369-4006 to avoid this.  Called back and told them that over the years I have received any number of calls for this deadbeat from various and sundry debt collection agencies with differing levels of coercion who has the same last name as I but my first name is John, not Jonathon.  All these hacks do is an internet search for any permutation of the name and then harass anybody and everybody with a similar name.  They were quite insistent that if I did not respond to have this matter cleared up (by paying a fee, of course) that I would be in imminent danger of prosecution.  I'm trembling!

Scammers!!!!!!!!! Calling on an old debt! That papers were mailed to me and were time sensitive. Called them back and the guy just told me my debt, not the company he was calling with. I told him that my attorney said he was a fraud and he told me I was trash and hung up on me!!! Do not give them any of your information!!!!!
