Called from this number saying that the Edison bill was overdue and they would turn off the power.  Realized it was a scam when they called a second time and gave a different number to the same billing department.  When i questioned this they hung up on me.  Do not give your CC info to these guys.

Same thing happened to me today. A man called saying that he was from PG&E. He said that he wanted to tell me that he sent out two notices for missed payments. He said that my electricity we be shut off in 45 mins. Scam as we done use PG&E for gas or electric.

A woman with a heavy Eastern Indian accent called my workplace saying that she was from PG&E. She said that she needed to speak with the person who was in charge of utilities and that she had sent out two notices for missed payments. She said that our business' electricity at (our address) we be shut off within the next two hours. I asked for her name and a callback number so that I could tell my manager. She reluctantly gave me the number 844-369-6522 but hung up without leaving a name. This is a SCAM. Do not give these people any of your info.

Same story here.  Very clever people.  I almost fell for it.  In my case, they called and said the power would be turned off in 30 minutes.  The power companies give you more notice than that!  I told him that I had paid.  He said they had sent past due notices and that there was still a balance.  I mentioned the amounts of the last two payments (bad move on my part), which he then added up and was using to make himself sound legitimate.  Very smooth.  Be careful!  Call the number on your bill to verify what you're being told.
