I got a phone call from this number 8443706821 the guy left a voicemail on my phone and said I owed debt to a payday loan company I asked for documentation to be sent to me so I could have proof was told he could not provide that info to me cause its already in the process of going through the court and they were giving me a chance to settle the debt before court so I asked further questions and how much the debt was I asked if payments could be made the guy told me NO I had to make payment in full or have the option of being taking to court in county nearest to where I reside I've been asking questions and have not gotten anything there are very rude and demanding. The name Johnathan Clark does sound familiar he said he was working for QVC Legal Department representing the company that filed on me.

If you call that number they  ID themselves as "CCRT Mediation".     This "Jonathon Clark" persona appears on other numbers on 800notes in connection with this "CCRT" group.  There is a CCRT PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT & CONSULTING, LLC which is a registered NY LLC, but I don't know if it is the same group. More research is necessary.

    Basically a debt collection scam.

Ignore and block these calls. If you were the subject of a pending civil lawsuit, you'd have received a letter from the attorney for the other party.  You'd have a paper trail.

Then, if a case was filed, you'd have received a summons delivered to you by someone licensed to serve process in your locality.  You would NOT have first heard about any civil law case from some scammery-scummery debt collector who cold calls you and starts demanding money.

You can check this out yourself by simply going down to the local main civil court and checking the defendants civil list.  The court clerks are usually glad to help and are familiar with these kinds of scams.

I have a suspicion that this group is located in upstate New York.  Just another "Buffalo Bully".

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

    1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
    2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
    3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

If they are bothering you, report them:

http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection (Threatening civil proceedings with no intent to follow through, or threatening criminal process in order to collect a civil debt is a  violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.)  The same goes for endless telephone harassment

Also contact your local attorney general

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.
You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking),  the only thing they understand.

Received voicemail. Caller stated his name as Jonathan Clark from Equitable Mediations. Stated that he represented a case involving my SSAN and that it had to do with a breach of contract. Wanted a call back immediately in order to give more details and find out what my intentions are. Otherwise the case is being pursued in county court.

You might want to seek the advise from an Attorney if someone else paid on a debt in your name.

If she paid them with a bank card or credit card you can dispute the payment.  Unless you can find these crooks you will not get your money back since you would have to do it through an FDCPA lawsuit.
You should read that post and report them to both the CFPB and your State AG.  Also be aware that since they were paid, they will continue to call and will sell your information, including your mother's info to other crooks as easy marks.
You should be sitting your mother down and teaching her how debt collection is supposed to work (hint, extortion isn't part of it).
