PayPal scam, phishing for acct info

Answered the call the first time as I was expecting a different phone call. Robo call said something about PayPal credit before I hung up. They have called me four times today since then and haven't left a message once.

A'holes have called me everyday for near 2 most starting @ 8 A M an call 5-7 times a day all day everyday

Call me every day now. It's a spam call claiming to be Paypal. Be careful about them. Scam.

This number has called 3 times a day asking for someone that doesn't live here.  First call is always at 8:00 AM   They never identify who they are and want you to talk to a rep.

Other posters here have indicated that it is PayPal Credit.  You will need to find out and send them a certified, return receipt "not me" letter.

Paypal - Credit - Scam - They call my home landline at least 5 times each day, for the last 2 weeks. They mention something about PayPal and bank. I know it is fake. I have not found any way to block them yet.  I use https://donotcall.gov/ and *77 .

They say something about a PayPal account. I don't have one.

Non-stop calls, no message

Leaves no message. So on subsequent call, I answered. Person claimed to be from PayPal and immediately asked me to "confirm" my identity by providing full name, address and phone.  When I asked why, I was told they needed to verify me before they talked to me. So I gave them a bunch of false info. Once they had that, they said, "OK. It looks like everything is fine now with your account. Thank you for helping us clear this up." When I asked, "Clear up what?" the caller responded, "With clearing up this issue. Everything is fine now. Have a good day." Then they hung up. LOL

It is pay pal.  Not a scam

They call, NEVER leave a message.  I don't think this is a scam though,  I will answer next time they call.  I have Paypal Credit and forgot to pay them last month.  I will update if they call again (I paid them today so ooops.)  I do agree with NOT giving them ANY of my personal information though.  If THEY are calling ME, then they know who already and I shouldn't be required to confirm my identity if they really want to speak to me.

I am so worried now! I called back and they asked for the last 4 digits of my social security number,  which I gave them! I usually check numbers before I call back. Anything I can do now?

Its a legit caller from the bank paypal uses- Synchrony Bank. But they will call about 3x a day. They've stopped calling my landline finally but at one point my cell would ring and I'd ignore it and then literally 10-15 seconds later the landline would ring.
Oddly enough though, no amount of spamming my cell phone looking for money I don't have will actually help them get their money faster.

PayPal scam  Which is very elaborate including sending bills to my address that mimic real bills reflecting charges from my eBay account that they must have hacked to get that information. Then they sent collection bills after that. The bill looks similar but the sheet is wider and the ink washed out.

They sent me a real looking bill from PayPal Credit, saying I was past due $900, call 844-377-4136 with questions.  The dirtbags even went so far as to tag my credit report.  I disputed and the account with Experian and it was removed from my credit report in a couple of weeks.

This is true, it is PayPal credit. I used PayPal a few times and didn’t realize I was using the PayPal credit. So I have money due and didn’t know it. I have paypal and Etsy emails go to a email address I  don’t check often. Anyways it is a real call at least for me.

Considering that scammers frequently spoof legitimate phone numbers, there's no guarantee that calls from this number are always from PayPal.
Why are you here anyway? You already know who called you.
