Someone representing ATT called to have u-verse lines changed to fiber.  When I contacted ATT they said this number is not associated with anybody they would have had call us.  

This caller called and said they needed to replace line to fiber and take the copper out.  Said they would do it for free.  This is incorrect, called ATT and they said this was not a call from them.  SPAM!

Claiming to be ATT: Complete Scam

The caller said he was from At&T. In our area they are upgrading lines and I explained that we just had this done. He put me on for a few minutes and said that the work was not completed and they would be sending a repairman out.  He was good, very good. I am usually on top of scams.  At the last minute he asked for our Tax Id number and I questioned him on this.  He was smooth and gave me a reasonable answer.  As I hung up I googled the 844-410-1631 number.  AmericCom your ATT Solution Provider.   And I can't get a hold of a real human being at this phone number.

Someone called from this number early this morning ( before 8 a.m.) and it came up private number. I thought that was a red flag right off.. The person calling himself Colin, left a message saying that it has been called to his attention and has come over his desk that we are being billed twice by AT&T and we needed to call immediately to resolve this issue. I'm glad that we had the good sense not to answer the phone. My husband realized right away this had to be a scam call. We are getting more and more of these type of calls everyday. I am beyond annoyed because we have a private number but with the net and all of our private information everywhere these days there is no such thing as privacy. Be for warned.

Claimed to e ATT and that I was going to get a new lowered phone bill. Caller ID even had AT&T on it but it is not AT&T

This guy was smooth.  Identified himself as AT&T.  Talked about renewal rates for a new monthly lower rate.  He tried to also, convenience me that if I got a tablet it would even lower my bill even more.  I called AT&T myself and was told they never call you to renew your account or rates.  Always done by mail.  Keep that in mind when you get the scam calls.

Calls often, no response when I say hello. When I try to call it back, I always get the message, Thank you for calling Americom, your AT&T solution provider for local, long distance and high speed services..."  But NEVER a live person.

Called the office today & even had my bosses name.  Said he was Cody w/AT&T but thanks to this website I was able to call him on this scam.

Caller from Americom "representing AT&T" called our office today. Caller wanted to discuss new rates, knew the phone numbers of all our business lines, but didn't seem to know what plans and packages we already had. My BS detector would have gone off a lot sooner if I hadn't just spoken to AT&T last week because they're updating analog to digital calling in our area,

This number called the office minutes ago. I didn't catch the name, but once he claimed to be calling from our phone company, I figured this was yet another suspicious caller. I gave him my requisite, "I'm sorry, but we don't discuss that over the phone. Please update your records so you can stop calling us," reply and hung up.

said his name was David with AT&T. He called a business number. I informed him of this and asked to be removed from the call list. He asked a again if there was someone in charge of the phones locally. Informed him again that this was a corporation and to remove my number. He said ok, and then at the very end of the call said "psych" and hung up. SCAM.

Please stop calling 20-30 times a day.  This is a business line.  Take your spam call elsewhere.

They've called every day this week; today twice in 30 minutes.  Nobody there and call disconnects after 15 or so seconds.

Has called every day, sometimes more than once a day, for the past 3 weeks.  No one ever answers when you say hello a few times.
Evidently, this person has no life and nothing to keep busy with.

We have asked numerous times to have our business number removed.  Apparently no one knows how to do it, we keep getting 50-60 calls per day.

Said his name was Kevin McCall, wanted to speak to someone in my office but we don't do sales calls, asked him twice what this was in reference to and he wouldn't say, said " just transfer me baby"

The people calling from this number work for a company called AmeriCom.  They are scammers and if you give them just enough info they will "slam" your long distance to another carrier and charge you very high rates.  The other scam they run is telling customer's that AT&T is upgrading all of their internet services to fiber so they need to upgrade which is their way of getting you to sign a contract for an IP Flex circuit and spend a lot of money.  They are more than likely an AT&T Solutions Provider but they try to convince you that they work directly for AT&T.  If they are unable to provide you with an email address ending in att.com, then they are NOT an AT&T employee.  If they give you an email address ending in att.net - they are NOT an AT&T employee.  Anyone with AT&T Uverse can get an att.net email address.

If you get a call from anyone claiming to be from AT&T telling you that AT&T is doing a required upgrade in your area, either from analog to digital, or from analog to Fiber - HANG UP.  It's a lie.  AT&T does not require this.  It's telemarketers trying upsell you on an AT&T product - usually an IP Flex.  Very deceitful way of selling the product.
