Attempts to collect. Fails to provide documentation on what collection is for. Fails to prove who they are. Gives non-existent call back numbers. Claimed they emailed me proper documents... Next thing I knew, I can no longer log into my email account. Researched company name that they said the letter is from... Company does not exist.

I had a similar experience today.  Received two phone calls from an unknown number and the man who left the voicemail gave me the heebie jeebies.  On the message he said he was an "Independent locater for State of Michigan looking for finalizing some documents for a civil judgment for a summons to appear in court."  Also he said that if I don't call the following number and talk to Sean Martin, 844-426-4270, by the end of the day that he would personally serve me papers.  I called the number back, and a woman answered the phone and wanted me to verify my social security number, etc, but would not tell me what the matter was regarding.  I didn't verify any information but they had the correct social security number, which makes me feel very uncomfortable.  I have been scammed before and this message wasn't like any other collections agencies.  When I offered the woman my lawyer's information, she just said for my lawyer to contact them and refused to take down my lawyer's information.
