This phone number is a scam. Didn't answer 844-475-5667 and report the number to a local police department.

Never let bullies on the phone confuse extortion with debt collection. Honest debt collectors cannot whistle up police to act as their agents, they do not typically send their claims straight to a judge, and they don't take your ransom money to broker quick deals with so-called "process servers". There are no secretive "arbitrators", "assessment specialists", "detectives", "investigators", "mediators", "mitigators", or "prelitigation specialists". Those who tell you such lies are sweaty double-talking criminals with a script full of coercive remarks. The agents' horrid threats are empty and their conduct is illegal.

Lawful debt collection in America is a process, not an ambush. Early in that process you must be given a specific notice about your alleged debt and how to dispute it. From there, you have a right to obtain proof of claim on paper. You have a right to control when, where, and how debt collectors contact you. Federal law does not expect you to take only the word of strangers on the phone that bad things are about to happen. Do not reward lawbreakers with your money. Challenge them always, sue them if you can.

They just called and claimed you owed them money and you believed them? Did they at least MAIL you proof of the debt before you set up this payment plan? If not, if you gave them a credit or debit card or checking account information, CANCEL IT IMMEDIATELY! NEVER just pay someone who calls claiming you owe money. Demand they mail you both proof of the debt AND that they're legally entitled to collect said debt. Phone calls, texts, faxes, and emails are not legal methods of debt validation.

Called me and stated with my non legal name that I owe a debt.  Had some basic demographic information on me including incorrect occupational information.

"Good Morning R.... Mr M.... , this is claims investigator William A Davidson.  I have a certified legal notice for you to sign for sir, DOCUMENTS, required paperwork for you to sign for 2 pending claims filed against you, R... earlier this morning in my office R.... "

Went on to describe the fake claims.  Then...

"Now I need to speak with you immediately R..., I need a statement of intent from you, R... or else I will have to go forward and file a motion against you to have this matter processed.  Meaning at that point, R..., you will forfeit your right to handle these 2 very serious claims against you, R... on a voluntary basis.  My number is 844-475-5667.  Claims investigator William A Davidson, regarding pending claim number 26.... you have been notified, and I need to hear from you as soon as possible.  Good Luck"

I then had 2 conversations with him poking holes in this garbage because I have no debt with any of these creditors he is claiming.  So I decided to have some fun.

    1. he uses my non legal name.
    2. he uses my name many times in the course of the message and even in the conversation to try to further give the impression that he is legit, because he is emphasising that he has information.
    3. He mentions documents to serve that I need to sign for.  When you are served you are not given advanced notice.  That is part of the process the element of catching someone off guard.
    4. How am I supposed to be served legal documents that I have to sign for over the phone.
    5.  He could not provide me a valid address where I lived, so he was asking me for my address when I stated I need to see paperwork and if he expected me to sign anything.
    6. Had no email address instead asked me to verify my email address to him.
    7. had no physical address for any company "ASG Solutions" only a PO Box.  Got aggressive about no address when pressed.
    8. At various points in the VM and phone conversations he was a claims director, claims investigator, Claims manager.
    9. the use of "Good Luck" at the end of the VM.  He has seen the movie "Taken" with Liam Neeson to many times.
    10. After the 1st conversation I said I would call back he indicated I have only until 5p to call because they left for the day.  He called me back at 4:45 and indicated the office was clearing out for the day and wanted to give me one last opportunity to begin a payment plan.  I then I called him back at 5:45p and he picked up and the background noise was loud like a call center.  I asked why everyone was still in the office if it was so important to call back by 5p to resolve if they were still there at 5p EST.
    11. Never once mentioned this was a recorded call and when pressed stated they they do not record all calls.
    12. Never once mentioned that this was an attempt to collect a debt.
    13. I purposely got a little abusive to see how he would react and all he wanted was for me to provide him my CC number to start a payment plan because as he stated, "I am just here to work things out for you."  I thought the initial contact was to server me certified paperwork, "DOCUMENTS" R...

There are a few more key indicators but this is a total scam, and do not send these fools money.

    Good Luck

I had the same guy William Davidson call me as well today and left me a voicemail. i called back a bit later... Said he was a "settlement director" on the voicemail but when i called back he was "claims investigator" and said I owed a debt on a previous loan which was incorrect. And that their would be a garnishment of wage sent to my employer. He knew where i worked and got ahold of my sister when i did not answer the first time. I questioned him also for a bit then told him I would call him back and never did. He then left me another voicemail later in the day.

I received a call from Ryan Schultz demanding payment on behalf of a payday lender. I asked to speak to Management and Will Davidson, the ASG Solutions LLC Settlement Director, called me a deadbeat, demanded payment for a bogus debt and then asked if I would be using Visa or Mastercard.  WOW!

William Davidson called my husband and me looking for our daughter.  He said he had documents for her to sign, then he said he documents to serve her.  He called from 346-231-1379 and said to call back on 844-475-5667.  Needless to say, we blocked both numbers.

Received a message from William Davison, Claims Investigator claiming I have to claims that will be filed against me , named my actual county, and then screwed up and stated another county in the repeat of his intent. I have received several of these messages, usually a few months apart.

William Davidson called and left a VM stating that he was looking for my ex sister in law that I have not spoke to in over 10 years. He said that she put me down as a contact if he could not contact her. That he needed to serve her papers and he could not get a hold of her. Very weird! I never called back and I’m happy I didn’t now that I looked up the return number that he asked me to call him at. 8444755667

Not "very weird".  Happens all the time.  Part of the extortion script.

One of the tricks they use is to call your family, friends, neighbors and/or places of employment (past or present or both) to create panic and embarrassment so that their intended victim calls them so that they can scare that person into paying extortion money.  They will usually also state information that would be illegal for a real debt collector to state to a third party such as that you are being sued, that you owe money to someone, etc. They threaten that if you do not call them back, they will contact your HR department and tell them that you are a deadbeat who does not pay their bills.  They often call people that have never even been associated with you because they get erroneous information off the internet.

The fake process server/location finder extortion attempt usually consists of the following:

They mention that they have received a Fax document or some sort of complaint and that there is a pending legal matter or action about to filed against you to create the sense of urgency.  They tell you that they are a “process server” and cannot give you the particulars of the case since the file is sealed. This is simply ruse to get you to call another number (often with a made-up case number) where they will ask for money to “make it go away” (this is actually the same place, they work in teams, one pretending to be the server, and the other usually pretends to be a lawyer).  They threaten to serve you at home or at work.  They tell you that if they serve you at work then they will need a supervisor, security, or HR person there as a witness, hoping that will cause you to panic over the alleged embarrassment of being served at work.  They also tell you that you will need two forms of ID.  None of which is true.  Process servers do not ever call ahead so that you can dodge them.  Process servers get paid to serve papers, nothing else.  They certainly are not going to pass up a paycheck by telling you that you can avoid being served, they are not going to give you an extra day or even a few hours to get a “stop order”.  Court documents are time sensitive and must be served within a certain amount of time.  Remember that you can always call the local courthouse to see if there really is a lawsuit that has been filed against you.

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.  If and when you get that letter you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.

First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file complaints with the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/#crnt&panel1-1
